I didn't want to give this book five stars. In my usual rating system I would knock off half a star for discomfort level. But the fact is that it is an amazing story with an amazing hero and heroine. Roxie is not your everyday romance heroine. She hasn't been a virgin for so long she probably can't even remember what it's like to be one. She's a local girl and so everyone knows her. A good number of the men know her in the biblical sense. But as it turns out, no one really knows her at all. Not ...more

Wendy Marcus is hands down one of my favorite authors and has found a permanent home on my automatic-buy list.

Her writing style is the perfect mix of angst, heat, sexiness and edginess. I wracked my brain trying to come up with another author (you of those, if you like Author A, then you'll love Wendy Marcus,) but there's no one I can compare her to. She's original and for that reason alone she's found a lifelong fan in me.

Ohhh boy, will I miss the women of Madrin Memorial Hospital and their delightful cast of family, friends, and patients! According to author, Wendy Marcus, this is potentially the last book in the series pertaining to the women that we have come to love and respect. In this installment, however, we meet Roxie Morano, a proud and take-no-shit Hispanic nurse who absolutely embraces life...i.e. page 115, “Life may not be the party we hope for, but while we’re here we should dance,” says the enthrallingly tall115, ...more

Harlequin Mills and Boon Medicals are fast becoming my favourite category romance line. But one thing I can’t get excited about is their run of the mill titles. They don’t do the books justice in my opinion. Had I been the one to name this novel, I’d have named it ‘Gotta Love Roxie’. Why? Because Roxie is one character who leaps off the page, makes you laugh, cry and think, with her in your face dress sense (visible under hospital scrubs) and pink cellphone studded with imitation crystals. Her h ...more

However things go from bad to worse for Roxie when a sex-tape of her is put up on the internet and her mentally ill hoarder mother sets fire to their home. The only one who sticks by her is Fig. Fig is not without his own problems -

As there are a ton of great reviews that go into depth about why this book rocks, I'm going to be brief.

What I love about it(In no particular order because I can't decide whether #1 or #3 are my favorite aspects of the book):

1) These characters are a hot mess. Seriously, they are twelve kinds of messed-up quirkiness and so so so real and loveable. Funny-Smart-SmartAssed-Brave-Broken-Stupid-Secretive-AWESOME characters.

2) Fast read, impossible to put down.

THE NURSE’S NOT –SO- SECRET SCANDAL is Book #3 in a miniseries, Madrin Memorial Hospital by Harlequin Mills and Boon Medical Romances from author Wendy. S. Marcus.

Roxie Morano depends on herself only as her brothers moved out soon after their mother started showing signs of mental illness. Since age twelve, she had no one else to depend on. She shocked Ryan ‘Fig’ Figelstein by telling him that she lost her virginity to the local grocer to pay for food when she was fourteen. But she w

Someone is stealing medicine at the hospital where nurse Roxie Morano works and she is their prime suspect. But her friend and 5E Head Nurse Victoria does not believe it for a moment. I was lucky enough to receive a pre-release copy of this title and WOW!

Not at all what I was expecting from a Harlequin/Mills & Boon Medical title but I could not put this book down; I read the entire thing in one sitting, staying up until the early hours just to finish it.

Although this is the third in a series, this book stands alone incredibly well, telling the story of some characters that we were briefly introduced to in t

Review: Ever thought of what it would feel like living in a small town with a secret hanging over your head just waiting to reveal itself and destroy your life?

For Roxie Morano life is good. She has a great job and good friends and every now and then she does get to let the wild woman within loose and has fun doing it.

But what no one knows is that actually Roxi

A Bold & Beautiful romance from Wendy S Marcus, I’m so hooked on the Madrin Memorial series and hoping this is not the last of the books in this Series. We want more Wendy!!!!

We were first introduced to Roxie and “Fig” in “Once A Good Girl”. The author’s segue into the third book was unique and delightful, a teaser that leaves you wanting for more.

The Nurse's Not-So-Secret Scandal is Ryan ‘Fig’ Figelstein and nurse Roxie Morano’s story;

I haven't read that many Medical Romance books, nor any of this author's other work, so I had no preconceptions really before reading it.

First of all I enjoyed it. Both the H/H were characters I felt I could root for, especially as they both had VERY troubled backgrounds, and at first I really thought I might dislike Roxie - but the more I read about her the more she grew on me. Fig too - he actually hid the majority of his troubles so well we only got to find out the full extent of

Fantastic read. This is not your typical medical, but neither is Roxie Morano your typical heroine, or Ryan 'Fig' Figelstein your typical hero. Definitely not. This is the wonderful unique style of Wendy S. Marcus tackling delicate issues and making them her own with her daring touch of humour and a huge injection of sexy!
This is the third book in the Madrin Memorial Hospital series and thanks to the teasers in book two I couldn't wait to read Roxie and Fig's story to find out how those sp

I haven't read this author before, but heard so many good things about this book that I had to check it out for myself. I'm very glad I did! Ms Marcus has a delightfully fresh voice that had me chuckling out loud in places. Both her hero and heroine are wonderfully flawed with interesting back stories, that kept me turning the pages. With plenty of twists and turns the writing was fast paced and I could not put this down. Read it in one sitting and will now read the other two books in this serie ...more

This is the third book I've read by Marcus and she is truly on my auto buy list! I read this on the plane coming back from a conference and couldn't put it down. I adored her quirky, damaged heroine, Roxy, the gorgeous yet sensitive Fig, and their spicy interactions. This book tackles some issues in an educational, informative way, and she takes chances as a writer that pay off big time. Cannot wait to get my hands on her next book - this is a must read!
The Nurse’s Not-So Secret Scandal is the 3rd and final book in Wendy. S. Marcus’ Madrin Memorial Hospital series. I am not one who reads much of medical romances but Wendy has a way of putting it out there that just makes her books compelling reads that I want more of.

27 year old Ryan ‘Fig’ Figelstein comes to Madrin Falls in upstate New York to visit his best friend Kyle. When he meets the larger than life and certainly colorful character that is Roxie Morano, Fig is definitely more than intri

The Nurse's Not-So-Secret Scandal is a sexy, pacy read with characters who have interesting (and unexpected) backgrounds and Marcus creates conflict between them that sizzles.
Roxy is a strong character and jumps off the page. Fig is layered and real. Both are living in the shadow of their mothers and have a lot to get through to find their HEA. It really feels like these two characters are meant to be together (despite the mountains of baggage they both have). And I loved that the resoluti

Gosh, what can I say about this?. Well, it is NOT a run of the mill medical romance. With gushing nurses waiting for their Dr Handsome. Nope not at all. The Nurse's Not So Secret Scandal is a gutsy, unique and above all honest story. The main characters are incredibly described. They have wonderful backstories and above all are believeable. I cannot say much about Fig, because when he was described in all his naked glory, my eyes were widened. I have never read anything like this before, and I h ...more

Georgie's Big Greek Wedding? was pretty good. I was a great book for passing the time and something to read. I would read it again. I liked the self-discovery angle and the humor. I also liked how the adventure was in a way that was more realistic to me. (I wouldn't be able to go to a far away country for a trek, etc...) The Nurse's Not-So-Secret Scandal was really good. I liked the fact that the author had shown that everything usually had a reason, as well and the difficult situations that sometimes don't se ...more

Wow, I really enjoyed this! This book is not your traditional category romance—it had heat and heart and talked about some heavy issues I’ve never seen before in a romance book. Very refreshing! The author took two broken characters with very unusual upbringings, brought them together and manage to pull off a believable happy ending for them. So glad I picked this book up. :)

Why I haven't read Harlequin's Medical line before? "The Nurse's Not-So Secret Scandal" was my second book & I confess - I'm oficially hooked. I haven't read the first 2 books in "Madrin Memorial Hospital" series, but now I'm so intrigued by her atypical characters that I'll have to look up for other books by the author. Brava to Wendy S. Marcus! Read this one, I promise you won't be sorry!

I loved how the author dug deep into the characters flaws and how two seemingly unmatched people ended up being the perfect matched.

“Fig leaned in close, his chest pressed to her back, his palm flat on her belly. “Time to muster up some moxie, Roxie,” he whispered. “Every woman in this bar is wishing she had a body as gorgeous as yours, and every man is wishing he had your long, beautiful legs clamped around his butt.”
Roxie relaxed. Smiled even. “Does that include you?” [...]
