This book is going to be great to use along with my Charlie and the Chocholate Factory liter ature unit. I think that my students will find it funny that in the beginning chocholate was bitter and not sweet because no one had thought to put sugar with it. It was also brought back by to Spain by Chistopher Columbus, who thought they were almonds first and coaco beans, where it took nearly 100 hundred years for it to spread throughout Europe because they didn't want to share.
there is also great vocabulary in here to introduce to the children before we start the Charlie unit.

admittedly, i enjoyed this more than the girls but who can blame me? it's the story of chocolate! this level 3 easy reader covers the plant, the history, the process--this is an extremely thorough book about the subject, especially for an easy reader. the girls, well, they thought it had too many words. :)

This clearly explains where chocolate comes from and how long it has been around. Also, the different types of chocolate.
