Christy has returned home to Helena, Montana after her disastrous debate trip to Washington, DC. She had originally thought that kids at her regular school would treat her differently after her trip. They didn't. They still pick on her just as much as they did before her trip, even though Christy feels so much different about herself, and has proven that she is able to make friends. She's had an especially bad day one day, when all of a sudden, she spots Alex after school. He walks down the stai ...more

Review: "Protected", was unique and so elegantly written that it did no less than amaze me with the brilliance of this author. In a world where danger is real and there are bad people just waiting to hurt you at every turn, Cindy M. Hogan still manages to weave in the hope that is found in believing in a higher power.

Protected is the second book in the Watched series. (Read my review for the first book, Watched, here.) I think this was an excellent second book in a series! It picked up right where the first book left off. I have to say that Christy is one of my favorite YA female characters. The reason why, is that she is smart, cute, and most of all is she portrayed as a "real" teen. Even though she is in this horrendous situation, she still is a 16 year old girl and she thinks like one. Sometimes YA female

Over the weekend I had some spare time and treated my self to a book. I chose Protected, by Cindy Hogan. She released this book last March on the same day as I released my first book, Promises. (We had our launch party together and she was so helpful, as I was a bumbling newbie). What I can't believe is that I had waited this long to get around to reading her book. I had enjoyed her first book, Watched, and I was rewarded equally, if not more, as I read Protected.

In Cindy's first book, Watched,

This is quite the ride. I was going to take my time working my way through this book, but I had to finish it. I really felt for Christy as she enters the witness protection program and leaves behind everyone she knew and loved in order to protect not only herself, but them as wel

First, my thanks to the Author for an E-ARC...??? (Is that a word? It is now.) to read. I was excited to see what was in store for Christy once more. It picked us up with the heroine just a few months after her departure from DC back in her hometown of Helena. Things still aren't very peachy there and go from bad to worse when Alex shows up. Soon, she finds herself thrown into Witness Protection and a whole slew of new moral dilemmas to conquer.

The author does an excellent job of keeping your e

At this point I am anxiously awaiting the final installment in Watched Trilogy!

As the second book unfolds the plot thickens TO SAY THE LEAST. bonds are made as well as broken and Christy has alot more to endure. I love the twists in this book. I read it in a hurry. It hopped and skipped some time and that was okay too.

This is one of my favorite series and casts of characters!

It was great and addictive reading. I was immersed and satisfied how it all went down. I cannot wait for book 3!

This is the second book in the Watched Trilogy and it is amazing. Once you begin there is no way you can put this book down! This book continues the thriller with Christy who wanted to change her personality and become popular and not picked on. When she returns to her school, she is still bullied until Alex, the extremely good looking boy from her Washington trip and run in with terrorists and saved by the FBI. When her mean girl bullies see how Alex swept her off her feet and kissed her in fro ...more

It's kind of a cool premise for a book, but completely implausible. When people go into witness protection, the government doesn't fake their death, especially if it is a minor. It annoyed me that she finally learned to like herself after changing everything, while still worrying about what her parents and church leaders would say about her decisions. I wouldn't be so hung up on that, except that she is still obsessed with what other people think, not her own beliefs (religious or otherwise). Sh ...more

Christy is a very smart and strong minded sixteen year old who is forced to become someone else to keep her safe. I really enjoyed reading about the transformation of Christy and the dangers she has to face every day.

The writing gets your Blood Moving! This book sizzles and pops with unexpected twists and turns.
Everything in the book leaves you wanting more.
I just couldn't get into this story. I didn't like the main characters relationship with her love interest. He was never respectful of her standards and wishes.

Protected is a story written by Cindy M. Hogan. It's the 2nd book in the watched series and is all about Cristy's life and adventures after leaving behind the murder that she witnessed in Washington, D.C. This story takes plalce all over the U.S. Here's her story. Cristy's home is just how she left it. She thought she had escaped all the troubles she had faced in D.C. but what she doesnt know, is that she had been followed home by the terrorists that had commited the murder. Thank you to Cindy M. Hogan for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Christy imagined she'd get back to her life at school and be accepted by the 'in' crowd - since she did it in Washington D.C., why not? She couldn't be more wrong.

Although Christy has been forever changed by her ordeal on the field trip - having witnessed an actual murder and been shot at and barely survived - it's hard to change the perception kids at school have of her. Especially, when she can't breathe a wor

In the second book of the Watched series Christy is at home and is at her high school where she doesn't have any friends. Alex shows up and kisses her right in front of the Cheerleaders. Then takes her away and to a historical nature park where they have a picnic then they go and crash a party, he drops her off at her house where she notices that there is a very suspicious van parked in front of her home.

Alex then takes her to the park again and this time the bad guys come and kidnap them, but

I found myself in a slight disadvantage reading this book. Simply because I didn't read the first book in this series. Because of this I didn't know what happened in the first book I didn't really know what it was about, however this book can in fact suffice as a standalone.

I didn't really like this book. This in account of several reasons that I will explain in my review. First of all I didn't really like the main character Christy. Now I won't be too harsh, because yes, she was placed in witne

Sequel to Watched, Cindy Hogan out does herself. Again.

Fifteen year-old Christy Hadden hates life back home. At her school trip in
Washington, D.C., she had a glimpse at what it felt like to belong--until the murder. Now in Montana, she slips back into the little nobody she feels she is until Alex--the love of her life--finds her. And so does the danger...

Hogan is extremely creative and a goddess of character creation as she whips up many well-rounded profiles as well as personalities for Christ

There’s nothing better than diving into a book and losing yourself in the pages. However some books come with terrible consequences. Consequences that leave you extremely tired and grumpy the next morning. Like a hangover but not for drinking, it’s a hangover for staying up too late reading because you couldn’t, for the life of you, put the book down. So WARNING: this book will give you a book-hangover. You’ve been warned. Now about the book…

Protected by Cindy Hogan is an excellent story of a teen girl placed in the FBI's witness protection program. It is the sequel to Watched: Murder Was Just the Beginning, the first book in the Watched series. Not having read or listened to Watched, all you basically need to know for this book is that the heroine of the series, Christy, is a brainiac 10th grader who goes a high school trip to Washington, D.C. where she witnesses the murder of a senator's aide. In Protected, Christy is back from he ...more
