Many followers of Christ need to have a deeper understanding of sin and our resultant need for salvation. In his well known confrontational yet compassionate style, Tony Evans challenges readers to gain a deeper appreciation of their salvation by comprehending how sin offends and separates us from the Holy One. Get prepared to have your gratitude for salvation "totally" deepened and your walk with Christ "totally" transformed.
Librarian Note: There is more than one author in the Goodreads database with this name.
Anthony Tyrone "Tony" Evans Sr. is an American evangelical pastor, speaker, author, and widely syndicated radio and television broadcaster in the United States. Between 1976 and 2024, Evans served as senior pastor at the over-9,500-member Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas.
This book should not be read piecemeal. It is far better to read as much as possible straight through in order to get the full impact of the content. Again, Tony Evans did a great job in covering his topic and objective (purpose) in writing this book. Don't let my three out of five star rating fool you. It is worthy of your time and effort to read. However, I had to give it a three star rating because it came on the heels of his very well-written book Our God Is Awesome. There is no comparison, the latter is the better of the two books. But when considered independently on their own merit, they are both great reads. I hope you'll consider reading it.
This is a great book that helps you appreciate the fact that your are saved without having to look for additives. In other words, you can be happy with Jesus alone.
