As LAPD Detective Jessie Drake probes the killing of plastic surgeon Ronald Bushnell and two of his staff, all found shot to death in the doctor's office, she discovers that the murders are anything but random and that there is a long list of suspects and motives at work. By the author of Dead Air. Reprint.
The working of disturbed minds plays a major role in this book, leaving the reader until the very end to learn the killer and the motives for the crimes. Also a good quick synopsis of certain facets of the Jewish religion.
This is the latest in the Jesse Drake series and a good one. A plastic surgeon is murdered and Jess Drake of the LAPD has way too many suspects - his wife, his daughter, his adopted son, etc. An interesting story with interesting characters.
I couldn't even finish this one. Too much focus on the main character's religion and not enough on the mystery at hand. This book was the least suspenseful mystery I've read in a long time.
There was no need to have Jessie Drake working on a second case at the same time she was investigating the main case. Her own development and interest in Judaism gave depth to the story. The story keeps you glued to the last page. Well done.
