“’Tis easier to think with a clear head.” “Yeah, well, mine ain’t clear, kilt boy, mine is full of whys, what ifs, and how comes. Not to mention a heavy dose of ‘that sonofabitch’.”

Soooo, Highland Shifter was a pretty good read, but no where near as good as the others in this series. The reason I didn't like this book as much as I have

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It wasn't until I started reading this book, that I found out it was part of an ongoing series. I was somewhat unsure if I was going to be able to jump in and read it and not become lost. I actually got in touch with Catherine and asked her opinion, she reassured me that it was a stand alone but many of the characters mentioned in the book had been mentioned in prior books. I

It's time for Simon's story... don't you think?
You met him in Silent Vows and fell in love with him in Redeeming Vows. Now he is all grown up and ready to be my next hero. Silent VowsRedeeming Vows

Aw, another yummy treat from one of the best in Scottish time-travel! In this fourth installment of an on-going series, Ms. Bybee has once again succeeded in creating a delightful yet believable story while conjuring up all kinds of wonderfully fantastic possibilities in the realm of time travel. It's light and totally escapist enjoyment for those who crave uber-hot, sexy highlanders, realistic, intelligent heroines, wild and exciting predicaments, while adding in just the right touch of fantasy ...more

When it comes to this author I just can't get enough.

I am a huge fan and I have read all the books with Tara/Duncan, Myra/Todd and Lizzy/Fin. In those books Grainna was the evil that had to be destroyed and with this book I was wondering how the author could top what had been written in the previous books and it was topped.

In California Helen is on to the missing case of Simon MacAlister where she finds a book (with a picture of her in it) and a necklace which gives her a feeling of warmth. H
"I just started Highland Shifter by Catherine Bybee. It is the 4th book in the series, but could stand alone.
Worth the wait! I love how the writter makes you feel like you are right there in the scene with the characters on each page I read.. I am trying to read this slowly and enjoy the fantasy world I am in for as long as I can. I love it!"

I loved this story of Simon who has grown up and is just as loving and caring as the rest of his wonderful family that are included in his story. It

This will be an auto buy for me. I love Catherine's books! If you haven't read this series, you need to start reading them now!! :D

It took a little longer for me to get into this book. It had been a long time since I had read the first three books. That made it harder for me to remember who the other characters were and how they related to each other in this book.

This one finished with a cliffhanger. It did not interfere with the storyline of this book, or le

Highlander Shifter by Catherine Bybee is a terrific paranormal time travel romance and it have to be honest it drew me right in from the beginning. I met this amazing author at the RT convention in Chicago and the moment I saw the cover of this book I knew I had to read it. I love shifters and time travel and mixed into one is definitely a bonus. When I started this book I didn’t knew it was part of a series, but that doesn’t matter because this story can read as stand alone.

Highland Shifter is the first book that I have read by Catherine Bybee, and I enjoyed it. This book kept me entertained and held my attention. I enjoy reading time travel historical romances, so I decided to give this one a try! Simon, the hero in the book is a Druid and can change forms at will. It does help that is a gentleman, sexy, a highlander and from Scotland (which I wish to visit one day). The heroine is stubborn, compassionate and falls in love with Simon (the hunky Druid). Helen is fr ...more

After reading bk 1-3 in the MacCoinnick Time Travel series Highland Shifter was a bit of a disappointment and let down. Books. 1-3 are Awesome, so I guess we had to have a miss step in the series. I didn't like Helen the heroine of the story, she just made so many dumb mistakes. I love Simone but felt maybe his story should have waited a bit longer as he was still around 12yrs old in the last book. Simon an Helen just didn't have the same romantic connection as

VERY GOOD: The characteristics of a 4 star book include: a great story; I loved the characters; and there was an interesting plot and unique story elements; there may have been a few odd things kept the story from being amazing. I would read it again and I would recommend it to a friend.
My Thoughts:
I absolutely enjoyed this story. It incorporated some of my most favorite elements -- a hunky Highlander, a shapeshifter, magic, and romance. Ms. Bybee spins an excellently woven tale that reads like a fast pacedfriend. My❤❤❤❤

I really enjoyed this book, but not until more midway into the book. It had been a while since reading the other books and I was trying to remember everyone. I couldn't really remember anything about cian & amber! I know in my previous reviews, I was really wanting to read their stories! Perhaps, I should have read them again! I don't really believe this could be a stand alone book. It does have a new story line, but with all the past characters, you really need to have read those books too. ...more

Another good story in the MacCoinnich series. This is Simon's story and he is all grown up. Helen is his love interest. They are both good likeable characters but I'm not sure why they liked each other so much. That's why it's a four star not five for me. I did enjoy the book and if you liked the first three then you should read this one too. I'm looking forward to Amber's book next and I hope Cian is coming soon. He was a little strange in this one. Happy reading! Merry Christmas!

The time traveling Highlanders are back! More accurately I couldn't resist the time-travel crack that this series represents and went back before the second trilogy was finished.

There’s probably a cliffhanger in my immediate future. I’ll suffer on womanfully when the time comes. But not just yet!

The MacCoinnichs, besides having a nearly unspellable name, are a family of time-traveling Druids in the 16th century. We were introduced to them in the Vows trilogy; Binding Vows, Sil

A war split by centuries. A family torn apart by circumstance. A love with no bounds.

And that's only the beginning.

HIGHLAND SHIFTER is a breathtaking trip through the fabric of time, each stitch more intriguing than the last. Through a simple stone pendant with incredible power to an ancient book wielding mysterious clues, Helen Adams is whisked to sixteenth century Scotland. We first met Simon in the first three books of the series, when he was only a teenager. Well, he's not a kid anymore--ask Helen, she'll tell you. I've been really looking forward to Simon's story (And Cian, and Amber's and now for the story of all the MacCoinnich kids, which I sincerely hope will happen!) and it didn't disappoint.

I warn you - this is not going to be a well written, deep and through review. I'm not
Helen can find what she sets her heart to finding, in this case it's the teenage boy Simon McAllister, traveling all the way to Scotland is nothing compared to traveling back in time and finding Simon, in a kilt, sporting a giant sword, and yes in his thirties.

Traveling back to her time Simon tags along determined to find out why their paths crossed, being a druid he knows nothing happens by chance, and the attraction he feels for her doesn't quite allow him to leave her, especially

Magic, Druids and Men in Kilts, What’s Not to Love?

Helen has a sixth sense of being able to find people or items. Her gift leads her to Simon McAllister, a teen that went missing a few years ago. Only this boy is a sword-yielding man now, living in 16th century Scotland with a family of Druids, who think nothing of time travel, magic and shape shifting.

Simon has lived in both worlds 16th century and the 21st century. Helen has enemies in her time and there is a war threatening Simon

This book honestly left me breathless!
I love this series and I have to say that the story just keeps getting better and better. Simon was one of my favorite characters in the previous books and I'm so happy that he got his own story.
The phenomenal writing just pulls you in and doesn't let you go. I love how Bybee describes the magic and the power that is so much a part of this story.

Was given this as a gift last Christmas and I just realized I hadn't read it yet. I've been on a paranormal kick lately and since I'm waiting for the next release in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, I have to fill my time with something. This fit the bill pretty well.

Quick, fun read (less than 4 hours). A good distraction for an afternoon. A little steam here and there, but tasteful. Engaging characters and I like the interplay of characters, building towards something bigger. I wi

Like most of the McCoinnich time travel books I enjoyed this one. In this one we find yet another 20th century woman finding love with one of the 16th century McCoinnich men. Well I guess he's kind of a 20th century man too considering that he traveled to the 16th century with his mom and then stayed when she found love there. A new evil force is at work and they need all of their druid powers to fight it. An entertaining read but now I am wondering just what lies in store for the last two McCoi ...more

Of all the Highland books I have read, this is for sure one of the BEST! I can honestly say you will feel every emotion known while reading it. Mrs. Bybee brings forth such emotion you can feel what they are going through. Your heart will break, you will laugh and be overjoyed all within the pages of this book. I fell in love with the people and of course the places of the previous books in the series and could not wait to read this one. If by chance you are looking for a GREAT Highland series I ...more

Helen finds herself using her intuition in an effort to find a missing teenage boy. On her trip to Scotland, she finds more than she bargained for.

this is a worthy follow up to the MacCoinnich trilogy, another delightful romantic fantasy. Personally, I didn't think much of the main character; I thought she was a pain in the rear end, so have had to mark this book a 3 instead of a 4. But, as I so much enjoyed the previous books of this story, I can't wait for the next of the series.

Another great story in the series! I thought it was going to be the last one, but I am so happy that there will be more. Can't wait to read Amber's story (and possibly Cian's?) The only problem I had, was that I was reading the Nook version, and there were a lot of typos, missing words, and unfinished, confusing sentences. I am assuming it was caused when transferring the printed book to an e-book, but I do wish someone had checked it over a little bit. Other than that, the storyline was great!

Love the entire MacCoinnich Time Travel Series, but was not as captivated by Highland Shifter as the first three. Not quite fond of Helen's character ~ perhaps not as well-developed as the other female characters I have grown to love. Didn't really understand what Simon was all that attracted to ~ that being said; I still loved the humor Ms. Bybee always manages to use throughout all her novels & who couldn't help love Mrs. Dawson? She was awesome!!
