Glad News!: God Loves You My Muslim Friend

Rate this book
The author integrates all of the positive teachings in Islam (concerning the Christian faith and Jesus Christ) to help Muslims believe the Gospel and to see the divinity of Jesus Christ and the salvation He wants Muslims to experience. The book highlights parallel passages in the Qur’an and the Bible about the person of Jesus Christ, such as His unique sinlessness and His unique virgin birth. The supernatural attributes of Jesus actually compel the conclusion that Jesus is more than a prophet! Throughout the book the author presents God’s marvelous, unconditional love for the reader and how God longs for a personal relationship with us based on grace and not on human works or rituals. Glad News! is written to the Muslim reader. It establishes common ground, using their own beliefs as stepping stones to the Gospel and uniqueness of Jesus.

It's hard to know how to rate this book. I didn't love the writing style but I also recognize it wasn't written for me. In terms of helpfulness, though, it is rick solid. Tanagho addresses the book to Muslims and walks through key similarities and differences of Christianity and Islam. He addresses difficult doctrines (like the Trinity) and key biblical figures like Jesus and Abraham who are also sacred in Islam. He walks through passages of the Qur'an to show how it connects or diverges from Christianity as well. In all what he offers is a very clear, gracious, explanation of the gospel. This is would be a profoundly helpful book for any Christian seeking to share their faith with Muslim friends.

Dear Christians*:

STOP FORCING YOUR BELIEFS ON OTHER RELIGIONS. THIS IS WHY THE WORLD HATES YOU, AND IT'S ALSO WHY YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO BITCH THAT YOU'RE OPPRESSED.

Sincerely,
EVERY FUCKING ONE

Originally I gave this title 5 stars. I am revising my stars to zero.

The reason I am doing so is that since reading this title, several things about my faith journey and expression have changed and I no longer subscribe to evangelical ideologies.

A very interesting, direct, and thorough book that compares the Muslim beliefs with Christian principles. I'm glad to read how we can begin to bridge the gap and learn to love others where they are with hopes of sharing the Good News.

Great resource for Christians ministering to Muslims.
I found it a little dry, but I'm not the intended audience.
