Each oh us is enveloped in a telling energy field called the aura. If you have ever felt immediately uncomfortable or unexplainably at ease- with someone you have just met, you have experience his o her aura. Now you can learn to see auras around yourself and others, and determine by their varying sizes and colours what they say about a persons physical, emotional and spiritual self. This book should be in the library of any serious, scientifically minded researcher in the Paranormal. It answers a lot of questions about the Human Aura in a way every body can understand and apply
I've started reading this book several times and it could never hold my attention although I'm very interested in the aura!
There were things that I gleaned from it previously and it was helpful to remember those as well as ponder other possibilities, however the processes in this book for 'reading' the aura were not interesting enough to hold me.
I'm setting it in the 'give away' box and looking to other resources for this information.
My husband was sitting across from me (trying to relax and watch TV) while I read this book and kept catching me trying to read his aura. :P hehehe I could actually see it!! It looked like heat... imagine that wavy look of heat over a road on a blistering hot day, or above the bbq grill. I couldn't make out the color (since he kept telling me to knock it off, and...)the lighting in the room and the colored walls interfered. I never got around to trying the other techniques in the book, but it was interesting and I enjoyed reading it. You can practice on pets or plants... My cats don't like it either and unfortunately I'd killed all my houseplants by then. I remember seeing the aura of a plant when I was little, but I thought it was just because I had a fever and it was freaking me out. I wouldn't mind reading the book again and trying the techniques on a more willing subject. ;)
I quite enjoyed reading this up to the point where I was instructed to put the book down and get my art box out. In order to progress further, I had to construct giant boards with various patterns on them which I would need to stare at to improve my ability to see the aura. I felt cheated here. I felt there should have been a warning about this. It's a book I'm enrolled in, not a craft workshop.
What a delightful and splendid read! Many exercises to revisit and practice along my journey. I will say it already is having a profound effect on me so in that regard it has done it’s job.
I am no stranger to auras and it would not be my first time seeing auras with the naked eye. For me I genuinely believe it to be a forgotten or cast away ability from my past. In my adult life I have seen auras and I am now wanting to see them more often and I have had some slight glimpses just from the exercises this book provides. I will continue and update my review around the time I should have completed or habitualized the exercises.
How to See and Read the Aura is exactly what it claims to be: a how-to guide on becoming in tune with the energies around us, enabling us to perceive the auric field surrounding all living things. The book contains different exercises that progressively train the reader to become more cognizant of the aura, eventually enabling him or her to physically see and/or intuitively sense the aura. It was pretty interesting. I did not take the time to actually do the exercises as I read through them, but I will certainly return to a few of them in the future.
Granted the beginning of this book was a tad bit slow, after the first chapter Ted Andrews really dived deep into some amazing practices. I absolutely loved the plethora of manageable exercises and meditations provided. Everything was super easy to follow and understand pared with photos, diagrams, tutorial, and DIY's. My favorite mantra included in this book " Om mani padme hum" directly translates to "the jewel in the lotus". Ted dives into the origins and meanings behind these provided mantras as well!
What I liked best about this book is that it gave me a better understanding of some of my healing exercises, and ways to communicate to others about how to do it. I also thought the last chapter, Strengthening & Protecting the Aura was of great benefit & liked that he used methods/examples from multiple religions/faiths.
Unsure how I felt about this one, I like the easy to read and understand writing style, it's fast and friendly. The first couple of chapters were really interesting and then somewhere amongst all the exercises I got bored and skimmed through the rest. I don't think I was in the right mood. But I am going to try some of the exercises!
had some nice exercises but the vast majority of it was heavily pushing pseudoscientific concepts. not uncommon in texts of this sort but i don’t enjoy when they take this energetic framework and run with it as a fact of physics as opposed to simply one possible interpretation.
Adore this book!! Highly recommend for anyone that is journeying the yogic path. It confirmed a lot of things I sensed and assumed I knew. Loving the aura cleansing practices!
A great handbook for the "beginners" in this field... This is such an enlightening book that offers great insights and knowledge. What I liked most about it were the simple yet detailed instructions on how to develop your aura seeing abilities. It also has many great pictures that clarify the different topics and exercises. Just a perfect guiding handbook!
Ted Andrews offers very practical exercises to stimulate the rods and cones of the eyes to enable them to better perceive auras.
Doing the exercises definitely has an effect on the ability to detect subtle energies. I noticed improvements immediately.
This is a small, easy to digest book that does away with any New Age mumbo-jumbo and just gets down to the mechanics of the aura, the physiology of the eye, and the techniques required to exercise a natural ability that we usually neglect as Westerners.
This book has been on my shelf for two decades. Not sure why I saved it so long, as I've reached a stage in my life where I'm not sure what to do with sentences like "You must learn to keep the emotions out of the pendulum process, as they will short-circuit the electrical system." Did you know that there can be "silver twinklies" in the aura? They are actually shiny and they represent "great creativity and fertility." "You must remember, though, that not everyone that has the twinklies is pregnant..." An extra half-star (Goodreads twinkly) awarded for that sentence.
Ted Andrews is a high level psychic who is often involved in helping the police solve crime cases. He is well versed in the psychic realm in a number of areas, including reading the aura. Very well written and useful book on the topic. Yes, you can see them if you use the ideas he gives you and are open to seeing them. I find low light settings are the best places to see the aura, although I have seen them even in high lighting conditions.
This thin book took me a while to read because it is rather text-book like in nature. I haven't done the exercises within yet, but I'm excited to try! The book has instructions for feeling and seeing the aura, creating divining tools, understanding the aura, and the best part are the meditations at the end for strengthening the aura.
A lot of practical ways to know "how to read the aura " this book will help you to read others aura & to see your aura with exercise and meditation the part I liked most was the techniques of protecting your own aura field ..
Some parts quite difficult to read and can be a 'hard read' at times, if you just want to pick up and read on the aura. Still very enjoyable and a good reference and guide book
There was some practical information in this book, which was great. This book weighed heavily on theory and had various practical exercises. Unfortunately, the writing style is very dull.
