I kind of feel sorry for this book. The overall story is good, and I enjoyed it, but it has too many topical pop references for it to amount to anything. No Doubt? OutKast? Orlando Bloom? This book is completely dated, and not in a nostalgic way, but in a, what are you talking about, Mom? way. I'd weed this book; read it before it's too late.

Quick read to catch up on my reading challenge.
Jessie is the teen daughter of a couple of Superheroes, and lost her dad 2 years ago. He mom has basically checked out since then leaving her to take care of he lil sis Chloe.

The 15 year old Jessie not only has to deal with normal puberty which is bad enough try getting super powers along with it. "Supurberty" (super puberty as I've dubbed it) when powers are finally showing up. Jessie is going through both at once and has multiple powers, and afte

Jessie is a "normal" in a family of superheroes. This makes her different from her family. Jessie and her mom & younger sister move to FL after the death of her dad. So now she's a sophomore in a new school. Things are going swimmingly until all the windows shatter in her classroom. Could Jessie be developing super powers? ...more

lumayan buat yang suka sama konsep remaja-banget. nggak dibuat-buat, sesuai sama kehidupan remaja umumnya dari mulai masalah sekolah, rumah dan cowok (kecuali bagian super power). kalau aku sendiri lebih suka yg english ver, karena versi terjemahannya agak kurang dapet gregetnya.

Jessie is a cute character, and the story is imaginative--the new girl in 10th grade discovers she has super powers she can't control. In an attempt to appeal to her teen girl audience, though, the author really overdoes the cutesy slang dialogue. It makes all the characters sound like posers.

Boy, this was a fun book! Imagine dealing with all the changes that come with being a teenager and having to deal with getting your superpowers too! I'd love to read another book about this character. Jessie is very likable!

A fun light typical high school with some super powers thrown in read. Not horrible. Not amazing.

this is a funny book that has a touch of sarcasim, fantasy, and my favorite, fiction, while keeping it real by placing it in the present day.

Jax Abbott knows a lot about moving to new schools: she’d attended thirteen different schools by the time she graduated from high school. After college and graduate school, she worked for a while in the real world before realizing that all those years of people telling her “Oh, Grow Up” had to mean something. So she started writing books for teens.
