A collection of shorts that give you and inside look of how BDSM and adventurous couples are. This is a sensual read with all different kinds of partners. You get a little bit of almost everything. Bondage, flogging, swingers, master/slave, topping from the bottom, f/f, f/f/m..and so on. It truly is a great book for couples on the kinkier side.

Rachel Kramer Bussel has gathered a stellar collection of stories here, and you're sure to find something that will light your fire.

Highlights -

Normal, by Charlotte Stein - This was my favorite story because it was just so different, so edgy, so dark, and delicious all at the same time. This one is told from a woman's perspective and describes a game she plays with her lover that begins with her putting two fingers to the back of his neck and saying, "If you move a muscle, I'll blow your fucking head off." I loved how Ms. Stein didn't shy away from discussing all aspects of this game (the good and the bad).

Like Riding a Bicycle, by Lisabet Sarai - I loved this one because it features an older couple (so rare in erotica).

Teppanyaki, by Janine Ashbless - This one appealed to the voyeur in me, and reminded me fondly of my wild youth in Los Angeles where I attended art events featuring food combined with nude women on display. I always wondered what they enjoyed about it. Now, I think I know.

Exposure, by Elizabeth Coldwell - A wife gives her husband the gift he's always wanted. Humorous, sexy and fun. One of many stories here celebrating kinky couples who are also deeply in love.

Petting Zoo, by Rachel Kramer Bussel - "When you truly love someone, you'll do anything for them." Yes, indeed. This one tells the tale of a married couple's foray into a BDSM club.

Whether you're someone already into BDSM (or someone who just likes reading about it), or you're looking for a more realistic portrayal of the lifestyle than you found in FSOG, you'll enjoy this one. It offers stories from some of the best in the genre, and does an excellent job of showing the whole spectrum of what is possible in the BDSM lifestyle while focusing on loving couples.

Anthologies for me are a wonderful way of testing the waters for undiscovered authors. It is like going somewhere for a drink and appetizers and enjoying the food so much you go back another time for a dinner date.

Anything for You was a very hard book for me to rate. I tried to keep a running rating in my head because some of the stories were really good and some were likeable, but not great. I really connected with some of the characters and others I really didn’t care about at all. There was one story in which I couldn’t figure out if one of the characters was male or female. I finally decided to rate it a Lovely Rose because my final verdict is that I enjoyed far more of the book than the parts that left me unsatisfied. I will be searching for more titles to read by quite a few of these authors.

I was quite affected by some of these stories and for me that is a remarkable thing. I believe that no matter what a book makes me feel, if it makes me feel something it is a good book! Several of the stories had me very aroused, some were more fun and had a lighter feel to them, others had a darker edge to them and because I usually read for enjoyment, those did not appeal to me as much. I want you to know that there is a vast assortment of stories in this book. This is definitely one of the most eclectic collections I have read so far. I must add that I did not expect as much female/female interaction as I found in the content of this book. I have not read much in that genre so it was new for me. I read almost anything so I was not bothered at all by it, I just didn’t expect it. Cover to cover this definitely contains quite a variety of kink so if you are looking for a taste of something that isn’t the usual boy/girl sex-a-thon, give this one a try.

Having read a number of RKB collections, I knew that this one would have quality writing and a good variety of scenarios. In this particular instance, I also knew these would be stories I could relate to. As expected, this collection did not disappoint. Obviously, you can’t expect highly-developed characters in stories that are maybe 10 pages long, at the most. But that’s not even a concern here. The scenarios are fairly realistic and believable, and things play out quickly but in a very satisfying way. It’s as if each story is the best 10 minute segment of a couple-friendly kinky porno... and that’s a good thing. The whole point of erotica is intellectual pleasure and this collection manages that quite well. I would absolutely recommend this to friends, especially those in the lifestyle or interested in some kink. These stories are hot!

This is a strong collection of erotic fiction focusing dominance and submission within established relationships. Standout stories include Charlotte Stein's "Normal", a peek at the strange games played by an apparently ordinary couple; "Interview", by Talon Rihai and Salome Wilde, a searingly honest alternation between the voices of a slave and his mistress; Teresa Noelle Roberts' "New Games on a Saturday Night", in which a jaded Dom discovers the delight of initiating a new sub; Ariel Graham's "Everything She Ever Wanted", a tale of trust as fantasies become scary realities; and Rachel Kramer Bussel's frank and insightful "Petting Zoo".

(I have a story in the book as well - which of course I think is one of the best ;^) - but your mileage may differ.)

Anything for You: Erotica for Kinky Couples is an anthology of nearly twenty erotic short stories. This collection is unique, in that it focuses on a very particular reader audience: couples. This book contains a story for everyone, and is sizzling hot from cover to cover, and on each page in between.

---

Four stars.

The thing that I adore about Rachel Kramer Bussel's anthologies is the amazing variation that she includes in each book. Anything For You is absolutely no exception to this. Within this anthology, there are stories between girls, boys, mixes of the two, female Dominants, male Dominants, public play, old couples, young couples. You want it, this book has got it.

As I always do when I'm lucky enough to get my hands on one of these collections, I'll highlight my three favorite stories from this collection. These are in no particular order. The first is entitled "Teppanyaki" by Janine Ashbless. This steamy little morsel tells the story of a couple that decides to have visitors for dinner, and it quickly becomes an entirely different kind of "party", much to the kinky surprise of one of the guests. The well written food and humiliation scenes made me want to have a dinner party of my very own, and soon *winks*. The next story that I most enjoyed is called "Notes from Her Master" by Kathleen Tudor. In this tale, a submissive women is given a little present for her plane ride on a business trip away from her Master. Little does she know that there are several directions for her to obey- and He'll know if she didn't. This one contains public play, airplane fun, and humiliation. Something about one gave me chills in the best possible way. The final one in my top three is called "Lap It Up" by Kay Jaybee, and involves two lovely ladies, puppy play, and Domination. It's not a kink I see represented a lot, and personally it's a refreshing change.

The lesser liked stories were marked as such due to one or more of the following: a lack of emotional writing (I hate when sex scenes are just that), a kink that I don't enjoy/am not into, or featured a second person narration (a personal peeve, no fault of the authors).

This book is a perfect read for couples that play together to enjoy together. Fans of erotica and kink, as well as Rachel's other publications, won't be disappointed by this book. It's a welcome addition to my fun shelf.

Thanks so much to the editor for my copy, and this review can also be found on my new blog, Bitches n Prose.

Anything For You: Erotica for Kinky Couples is a book of 19 very good, believable, fun, erotic stories. A few of my favorites were: Everything She Wanted (M/f, married couple, attend play party), Petting Zoo (F/m, committed couple, play party, spanking, play with others), Lap It Up (F/f, puppy play), Teppanyaki (M/f, another couple joins, exhibitionism, humiliation), and I Tend to Her (M/f, when the slave is sick, her master nurses her to health).

There was an enjoyable mix of dynamics throughout the stories – male dom, female dom, married couples, committed relationships, new relationships, lesbian relationships, full-time power-exchange, and bedroom play only. Several of the stories mention (or even focus on) how the needs of those involved are complimentary and each is fulfilled, which I greatly appreciated. The events took place between consenting adults (usually) in a caring relationship and were realistic.

There was only one story that seemed to diverge from the structure set by the others and for that reason I didn’t enjoy it as much. The story was set up as a use of BDSM as revenge for a cheating partner and ended in a way that confused me.

An excellent book with many intriguing stories that touch on many different characteristics of BDSM relationships – there should be something here for everyone.

The problem is not that it's not erotic, it's that the tales are rarely interesting. Why does erotica always seem to be formulaic and rarely novel? It is one big cliche'...

Perhaps more than any other erotic story collection I've read, this one pushed me out of my comfort zones. The puppy play by vet techs freaked me out a bit, and there were WAY MORE strap ons in use in the various stories than in any other collection I've read. I appreciated that so many of the stories focused on settled, mature relationships, instead of new ones (although there were a couple of those in here as well), giving a different perspective than so many of the trendy romance novels that try to depict kink right now. While it's not my favorite collection ever, the authors did generally manage to make the stories sizzle for me, even when they were about subject matter I didn't expect to find hot and certainly have no interest in experiencing personally, and I appreciated learning more about different kinks and dynamics. A solid collection within its genre.

Thought not every story was catered to my specific taste, I feel that not everyone was meant to. The point of an anthology top expose. For every point that didn’t interest me, there were myriad that did.

As always Rachel Kramer Bussel is an awesome editor. She has an outstanding eye for selecting well written and erotic stories and a variety of themes.

I am just sorry that I've not seen her put out any more themed books, beyond the year's best erotica she was doing.

The press release for Anything for You described the fictional anthology as a "guidebook to great sex," so I admittedly held it to a slightly higher standard as a collection intended to be shared with a partner and used for bedroom ideas. Like the last Cleis book I reviewed, this one focuses on kink in established relationships, but unlike that anthology, the first story of this one immediately drew me in. Lisabet Sarai offers a dominant male narrator who reveals uncertainty at returning to play in middle age and clearly expresses respect and love for his submissive wife. The story has an everyday feel that tugs at the reader, giving it a "this could happen to you" vibe. Delightfully, the anthology only gets better from there.

Going beyond token diversity, this anthology is truly varied in terms of gender, orientation, and D/s dynamic. Strong narrators who give you a comprehensive look into the emotional and psychological side of a kinky relationship are a unifying theme, and I especially liked how the narrators differed--sometimes we get the sub's POV, sometimes the dom's, and any reader regardless of experience gets to enjoy a range of kinky motivations. Plus, the volume really delivers on hot scenes and dirty talk. Certainly there are a couple of stories I don't care for, but I appreciate that all the characters are human beings, and that we get to know them even in short pieces. I also love that explicit consent is a theme in many of the stories.

My favorite stories, no surprise, were those that fuck with gender roles and expectations. In Deborah Castellano's "Tails," a boyfriend plays princess to his girlfriend's Daddy, with the added bonus of a setup indicating that the couple switches. "Apple Blossoms" by Emerald is a twist on the lesbians revenge fuck a rude straight guy trope, with sexy consent and a sweet male character who's at least fun when he's not being a dick. And then there's "The Guest Star," a threesome story by Sinclair Sexsmith featuring a femme top with role flexibility and a shout out to safer sex with toys. I love the butch or transmasculine narrator who starts the story: "I don't make a lot of assumptions the first time. I don't expect us to get off; I don't expect to be able to tell when she comes, if she does. [...] Of course I do my best at all of those things--but with someone new, you just never know. Maybe it's the chivalrous service top in me, but I watch for cues and tend to take them from her, as best I can."

Despite my high bar, I'd definitely recommend this one to a couple seeking ideas.
