Very informative. I have hashimotos so I found it helpful in learning more about what that means, and what I need to do to make myself healthier. Now to just implement it lol!

My now husband (at the time, my fiancé) had given me this book to help address my hypothyroid/Hashimoto's disease diagnosis from 2011. I found it to be somewhat helpful, but not that great. It seems to me that authors such as Dr. Izabella Wentz and Dr. Datis Kharazzian are more in tune with current trends fro treating thyroid patients.

'Can't recall what I was researching when I spied this book in the community college's eBook database, but it looked worth a read, so I purchased it from Kindle.
This book provides the whole package of a hypothyroid program--nutrition, food allergies, matabolism, exercise, and even tips on finding a doctor. It primarily focuses on the dysfunction as a result of Hashimoto's Disease, but allows for other causes as well.

After years of struggling with thyroid issues, and countless books on the topic, this is the first one that actually made sense!

Information Overload

I think that there is lots of great information in this book, and would recommend to anyone with Hypothyroidism. The reason I gave it 3 stars is that much of this information has been published before on this topic. I have been Hypothyroid for about 15 years, and have ready many books about Hashimoto's and weight loss issues. I agree that there is no "magic pill", but I think that he overwhelms the reader suggesting liver cleanses, elimination diets, drastic dietary changes, vitamin supplements, and exercise routines. If you have the time to transform your entire lifestyle then this book is for you.

The typos were distracting enough, but what correlated with information read via other, better-edited sources is good.

Good info-very surprised about all that I shouldn't be eating. This will be hard but hopefully worth it!

I like the push towards natural foods first before attempting any supplements. I also appreciate the handy checkpoints & charts at the end of each chapter about foods to consume more vs avoid.
