I read El Viaje de su Vida (along with Pobre Anna and Viva el Torro) for my ninth-grade Spanish class nine years ago. But I still remember all of them pretty well.

For a book designed for second-year Spanish students, this really wasn’t too bad. It’s an intentionally cheesy melodrama. I was amused and entertained by how cheesy it was. The book is just ridiculous enough to keep high schoolers entertained—while also teaching them about different parts of the world and helping them to develop their

C'etait tres fantastique! We read this book in French class. It is about a boy named Jean-Luc who takes a trip with his family to Geneva, Switzerland. While he is there, there is an "insect woman" who steals an old woman's necklace. Now, Jean-Luc is on a mission to catch "la femme insect" and retrieve the necklace for Mrs. Vidollet. I recommend this book to new-ish French students.

Le Voyage de sa vie is a great book and helped me understand french a lot better. Le femme insecte is probably the most dangerous person in the universe so watch out.

First off, it was so cool to read a book that wasn't in my native language. And it was a great book to start off with as well. I found that I knew most of the vocabulary, and the words that I didn't know could be inferred or found at the back of the book. However, the plot and details of the book themselves were what you would expect of a book for 1st or 2nd graders. This was frustrating to me; mentally, I could handle so much more development, but my language skills were not developed enough fo ...more

Didn't like it. Probably because it was a beginner's book for French class, but still...

I understand this is a book for Spanish students but the plot was really just terrible. It was good for vocabulary though. I think the other Blaine Ray books were better.
