This book has a universe of sights, characters, and places to offer. Carter’s range of voices and style is phenomenal. There’s the moving titular piece, "The Life Story of a Chilean Sea Blob." Then there’s the ultra-weird “Max’s Colossus Proboscis,” a strange and fascinating case of having an overactive sense of smell. And so much more. My favorite is the “The Who Doin’ Doll,” a darkly funny version of “Sredni Vashtar.”
