Everspell happens to start off not long after where the first book 'Spellbound' finish's. I found that while reading the first half of the book, it seemed to drag a bit, while author Samantha Combs caught her readers up with what has been going on with the book characters since we left them at the end of book one. The second half of the the book, didn't disappoint as mush as the first half did. Samantha's writing and storyline's were more additive. I normaly don't like reading book's that swaps ...more

Everspell is the sequel to Spellbound. I absolutely adored Spellbound and was super excited to receive the arc for Everspell. This book continues the story from Spellbound, but is complete in and of itself, so you could read it as a stand alone book. I think, however, that it is much enriched with the complete background. Since it is a sequel, I need to warn you than my review will most likely contain spoilers from the Spellbound. This story brings all of the characters from the first novel back ...more

I liked this book very much. I love the way Samantha writes her books are very easy to read and you find yourself not being able to put the book down, which I think what most readers crave for.

I loved the way the Serena and Logan story is coming along and I can't wait till it's spiced up a bit. And in my personal opinion it really now needs to be happening mainly for the balance in the book.

I struggled with the 16 yr old storyline though. I can't quite get my head around that one. Although very

Everspell is book two that continues where Spellbound ends. You don't have to read the first to enjoy this one. The book is well written and very fast paced. You get to watch the characters lives unfold in front of you while you read. There is plenty action, magic and love. It is written so clearly you see the scenes as if you are watching a movie. Told from a couple POV you get two sides to the book. A few shockers are revealed in this book but I won't tell any spoilers just know they are good. ...more

~I found this book to be a lot like the first on with lots of tweaks and flashbacks. Though there is new characters and situations, it feels the slightest bit repetitive. Other than that, it seemed that the characters have matured a lot since the first book. They made adult decisions that would affect them it big ways and stuff like that... When he book ended, I felt there was a lot of loose ends that needed to be tied up. Good thing there is a 3rd book coming!

Samantha Combs has done it again! When I read a sequel, sometimes it comes across and repetitive and flat. But not this one. It answers questions from the first one, and takes you for a ride. There is not one boring moment in this book. From the time you start it, just hang on for the ride. Some things that happened in the story had my jaw hanging open. Read this book!

Hmm. I can't quite put my finger on why, but this novel and the last don't move me at all. The characters don't ring true to me. Logan's inner dialogue sounds like a female wrote it, and his mother seemed as though she would be WAY smarter after book 1.

So after finishing Spellbound, I thought Everspell would be like; whatever, just an extension. Boy, was I wrong. There were tons of surprises and turns of events, and I certainly cannot wait for the 3 and last book of the series, although I am sad that it's ending. This one definitely deserves a 5 out of 5 book-a-saur paws too!
