On the outside, Tone seems to have it all. He has a father he looks up to and an older brother who keeps him under his wing--until the day his father crosses a line that changes everything. Tone is forced to enter a world he knew nothing about. Detective Abraham is obsessed with power and money, so he has figured out a way to play on both sides of the tracks when it comes to organized crime. The only thing stopping him from making it to the top spot is Santiago, one of the most feared suppliers in the country. Santiago's only weakness is his daughter, Serena. Detective Abraham develops a plan that involves his son, Tone, getting close to Serena. Against his better judgment, Tone goes along with his father's plan and sets out to win Serena over with his charm. What he hasn't planned on is Serena turning the tables and stealing his heart. Now Tone is faced with choices that leave him questioning his loyalty to his family.

Walking, walking while I read my books, Walking, walking while I read my books, GODDAMN this book is off the hook with a twist, Like m*****f***in' "Scarface," Took a shot, didn't miss, Searching for a wild romance? 'Cause I found much more in this gem like Malcolm, It busts styles, NEW STYLES, standing strong, While I walk a hundred miles, (But I never run, never will) Deal with this white lady middle age/class, BOOM! Media try to do me, But I hear the end and still read this book again, YEAH! Call me and I highly recommend the audiobook because the narrator's voice is hot as my date, m*****f***er! Reading when I should study, But I got in my hands this book, YEAH! They say finals are coming up soon, But people should read this, It's really f***in great!
This book was decent! Tone and Serena was accident love story that was worth the read! Book had me want to read more. Started the book and couldn’t put it done. Tone’s father was a grimy piece of trash that disgraced the badge. Most hated character besides Gruff. I am glad he got his! This book was sad in the end!
This book didn’t make sense to me at all. The plot was crazy. The writer tried to make it out to be a dirty with so much power but the character didn’t make make sense. And the ending was pathetic...with the detective, sons and girlfriend.
This was definitely a grimy look into the backstabbing and seedy lives of Tone and his family. I didn't expect some of the twists and turns, while others, though predictable, were woven in likably. I particularly loved to hate Detective Abraham. Good read.
Ok read. Tone was his own man but still followed his dad's orders initially. Serena really turned out to be his equal. Det. Abrams was the worse of the worse.
Treasure Hernandez did not disappoint in her book The Block. My favorite characters were Tone & Serena. She was a real ride or die for her man Tone. Det. Abraham was dirtier than dirty. He got his own son hooked on drugs. There was some grimes characters in this gook. One in particular was Gruff and his dog. Karma does come back to bite you daddy Abraham. I felt sorry for Tone & Serena. Good book!
I reall yenjoyed this book. It kept my wanting know what was on the next page. I love how the characters seem so realistic. I loved how you never know how the story is gonna play out. Once you think you know how a situation is going to go down there goes another shocking event that you wouldn't have expected.
Man this book was something else loved it had me reading well into the night I actually finished it in one day...but man it was bogus at the end and how tone did mya but karma does what it does best
