Alright. I'm in a process of reading some horse books that I really liked when I was a child. This is one of those books that I actually still enjoy as an adult. Sure, it's fast paced but that's understandable as it's written for young readers. I just have to add that one of the reasons I had a good time reading this was the fact that there are so many characters who have namesakes on Supernatural. As a SPN fan it was amusing to read about Cass, Jack, Michael, Bobby, Anna, and Mary. (Hope I didn’t forget anyone!) That’s a lot of namesakes – I wonder if Jones has been watching some SPN. I think in 2010 all of those characters had already appeared on SPN apart from Jack.
If I had been younger, I may have enjoyed it. Not now. The main character gets everything she wants, is a pro-rider, has all the chances and why does everybody keep asking her to ride competitions for them? I get it that this is for younger readers, but I simply do not appreciate it as much as I would have. Second star for beautiful illustrations.
