I really wasn't sure what to expect with this book, and I wasn't thrilled or disappointed. I'm trying to work my way through some of the books that I know I should have read by now, and it helps that many of them are public domain and can therefore be downloaded to my iPod for free.
As something of a time-travel connoisseur, I think this particular tale left me wanting more. I understand that it was written more as social commentary than science fiction, and I was intrigued by the implications of what the traveler found in the future. Considering that all of my favorite science fiction books concentrate on how characters internalize and make sense of fantastical experiences, THE TIME MACHINE left me a little bored. It's quick though, and definitely worth reading for free.
