Along the coasts of the North Atlantic there are legends of a lost land over the sea - a land of magic, of immortality, and of plenty. Plato described such a land, naming it Atlantis. In his descriptions, the Atlanteans were doomed by their falling into decadence, and their opposition to the spirits of nature.

An epic fantasy rooted in the mythology of the lost land, "The F

This fantasy thriller book is not an easy read because the author's narrative is very descriptive, which is a little tiring for me as I'm not used to reading novels. The name of the characters are inspired by Gaelic names, which is difficult for me to understand. Initially, I thought about giving up reading because of both its complexity and the small font size. On the other hand, the author uses an elegant and poetic language which I really enjoyed. I'm glad I decided to persist on reading, as ...more

Enjoyable. It was a very cerebral fantasy. The story has a lot of interpersonal intrigue and conspiracy. The setup and story reminded me of Harry Potter. Candidates are selected and taught "mystic" arts. This is a very adult story unlike Potter. I am disturbed by what the initiation is. I wish the writer would have explored a different methods that would have worked as well. I like how there was little physical description of most of the characters. It allowed my imagination to create their imag ...more

This book tells the story of Eirime who was whisked away from the small town she lived in to go live with the Sea People many years before. She returns to her village and all of her family has since passed away. Eirime is an Immortal now and appears to be much younger than she is. She decides to hide her true identity to the villagers, and stays on in the village as the Steward. Eventually, she takes on twin sisters - Eala and Geana - as apprentices and begins to teach them math and ho

I'd advise anyone to take a chance on this book, by a first time author who hopefully we'll see plenty more of in the future. It's a fantasy novel, but much more in the style of Moorcock than Tolkien: it is sophisticated, stylish, and full of clever and well-considered concepts that give it a hint of sci-fi. While the story of a peasant girl leaving her family to learn how to be a hero might sound like typical fare, the novel itself is far from typical, and if the first quarter seems a little sl ...more

I've been trying to think of how to write this review. I do like the story. The characters are engaging, the world is unique and comes with its own stories and legends. Saying that, the book is complicated. The format makes it hard to read. The tiny print, and the way it is formatted proved to make it difficult to get into.
The story would shift from one part of the world to another, one part of the story to a complete other without warning other than an extra space between paragraphs. This mad

A bit confusing at the very first, but the pace and the story line picked up, details made clear and I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the a follow-up!

I'm a writer and a smallholder living in rural Connaught. I have been writing for many years, and started to publish my work in 2012.
