Bound to the Barbarian is an historical romance set against the background of the Byzantine Empire in the late 11th century A.D. It's published by Mills & Boon. I generally love Mills & Boon historicals, and this one was no exception. It's really vividly written and the author has certainly done her research - my interest was piqued enough to look up some of the historical background, which is fascinating!

Ashfirth Saxon, leader of the Varangian guard (and the "barbarian" of the title, al

Katerina'nın acı veren geçmişi bu iki a ...more

Freed slave Katerina pretends to be her mistress when the Varangian guard come to escort the princess back to Constantinople for a marriage alliance. We have a double forbidden romance (that really isn't) plot - warrior bodyguard/princess and ex-slave/wealthy hero. Yes the plot is a little daft but it works well enough and we have the knowledge from the outset that things can all be resolved happily.

The best thing about this novel is the Byzantine setting which is wonderful. Its so refreshing to

This was a quick, easy read. Having already read Lady Anna's story, I kind of knew what was coming with Katrina and Ashfirth but it was really well done. I liked actually seeing the chain of events from two different viewpoints, both women having different concerns and worries, having differences that formed their alternative perceptions of events. Loved Ashfirth Saxon, he was just so gorgeous.

Bu ay ki Harlequin Historical sayısının yazarı Carol Townend'in Bizansta Bir Güzel Orjinal adı Bound to the Barbarian'ın Goodreads puanı 5/3,33 benim puanım 5/3
