A good fictional read about bicycling the West Coast and his dealings with life.

I purchased this book thinking it was nonfiction. After realizing it was fiction, I almost didn't read it. After starting it, I became interested in the story. The book is about a man who hits a troubling time in his life. To get some relief, he takes a solo bike ride from Seattle to San Francisco. A good read after all.

Good travel story. Lot's of details about the trip making it sound as if written from recollections of someone who'd actually done it. The emotional journey wasn't as well developed as the physical one and the appearance of a so-called "manic pixie dream girl" seemed a bit unrealistic, but it made the story happier/more hopeful, so, if one can suspend disbelief, it worked OK.
