[Peter]

Beautiful account of how spiritual light was poured into a young man's heart, how he became a monk, and then how he gave his heart's blood to help transplant an ancient Vedic monastic tradition into the inhospitable environment of San Francisco in order to follow his divine calling.

A most wonderful book

An extremely well written and well researched biography of one of the greatest saints of Sri Ramakrishna Order. This work also chronicles some aspects of the early history of Vedanta movement in United States and the sacrifices made by great souls like Swami Ashokananda, a true soldier of Swami Vivekananda. Feeling blessed to have read this book. So many thanks to the author for the painstaking research and the overall book.
