Emily Stokes wants to be kissed, but she’s finding out that it just isn’t that easy to find that special someone.

Emily is a typical teenager in Topeka, Kansas, finishing her junior year of high school. The story begins with her devastation over learning that her parents have decided to move the family to a rural area outside of Topeka. Emily thinks her life has been “ruined”! Not only will she have to change schools to complete her senior year, she will leave behind her close girlfriends, and h

When I started reading this story, I thought it was going to be a YA Contemporary romance. It turned out to be way more than that. Instead it turned out to be a beautiful romance with a twist (that I don’t want to giveaway, as the author doesn’t in the beginning either) and shows that love can conquer all.

We begin the adventure with Emily in her home town where she has grown up. Her father comes home from work and informs the whole family that he has purchased a house in the country and that th

Your first love is always the hardest. This is more true for Emily Stokes than possibly for anyone else. A Kiss For Emily is a story about first loves, crushes, mystery and the paranormal. Paranormal what exactly? Well that I won’t ruin for you but I can tell you it is not vampires or werewolves.

A Kiss For Emily, is different from other YA Paranormal Romances out in the market right now. Not only does it have a different paranormal being that the main character falls in love with, but it also ta

A Kiss For Emily is about seventeen year old high school student, Emily. Emily has a big crush on her friend Alex and has been patiently waiting for him to ask her to the prom. Unfortunately, her parents decide to move her family out to a rural part of Kansas. Frustrated with Alex's mixed signals and having to now go to a new school, Emily decides to take a simple walk in the woods around her new country home. Emily discovers that there is more than just woods surrounding her home.

I absolutely adored this novel. It's different than other paranormal romances out there. The last few chapters were VERY exciting, I won't say how/why you just have to read to find out! I was smiling the entire time. LOVE that scene. Can't wait for the next book in series.

This is a novel which is a bit difficult to synopsize because there are so many Spoilers involved. It is, however, thoroughly enjoyable, and, in spite of its abrupt ending—or perhaps because of it—will make the reader want to know more.

At first glance, A Kiss for Emily appears to be simply a YA romance…girl likes boy, girl moves away, boy becomes despondent… but with Sam Easley’s appearance, it changes. Emily’s almost mystical description of him immediately sends out signals that this young ma

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was given a copy of A Kiss for Emily from the author for a review via Full Moon Bites Blog Tours.

When I read the title A Kiss for Emily I was thinking a kiss for Emily? What does this mean exactly? Does it mean her first kiss, her first real kiss or just a very special kiss? I just had to find out what was so special about A Kiss for Emily was all about. Well I not going to tell you which one it is because then I would be giving it all

Mystery, intrigue, romance. That is what you will get when stepping into A Kiss For Emily, but that's not all, there is also an element of the paranormal. You may ask, what? But all I can say is that it's not vampires, werewolves, or fae.

I wasn't completely enamored of Emily, but I did like her. She was smart, but also naive. She was strong, but also weak(not in physical terms). She was deep, but also shallow. In other words, she seemed real, at

Best friends, first loves, crushes, ghosts...ghosts??? Yep this read has it all. Emily is a junior in high school, doing normal HS girl things, looking forward to prom, wondering when her crush Alex is going to ask her...when BAM! her dad just decides to up and move the family to the country. This move means switching schools and every girl knows that is NOT cool. What Emily doesn't expect to find, while out exploring the woods (because really what else is there to do in the country?) is a hotti ...more

A Kiss for Emily (Emily Stokes Series) by J.P. Galuska

A Kiss for Emily is a fantastic YA Paranormal Romance novel, J.P. Galuska has written a novel that is full of twists, mystery and of course romance. I loved all the different points of view from the other characters and it is very well written. I liked that A Kiss for Emily was a bit different and loved J.P. Galuska writing I of course went to look to see what else she has written as I thing J.P is one great author.

This was great and definitely not your typical teen angst book. First we meet Emily Stokes who just wants her first kiss and wants to hook up with Alex someone she has known forever. Emily gives him many chances to ask her to the prom, but this falls short and I felt reading this part that Alex just wasn't for her.

Alex has a dark side dealing with his father's suicide he buries himself deep in drug use and totally making a fool of himself.

When the author contacted me regarding a review, I read the description and found it interesting enough to accept. After I received my copy I made short work of it. Although A Kiss For Emily is not a relatively short book, I could not put it down.

Emily and her family move to a new house that is not only isolated, but also further away from her school, forcing her to change schools. Upon exploring the surrounding area Emily stumbles upon Sam, who has his own secrets to hide. Soon her parents beco

What starts out feeling like a simple teenage romance story quickly morphs into one with mystery, intrigue and some paranormal elements that are introduced in quite an unexpected and unique way. Emily is a typical sixteen year old girl, prone to crushes, snarky and petty behaviors, and all wrapped up in her own life as she sees it. While a family upheaval throws her life into chaos, and a move away from her crush, she is wandering about a little lost until she comes upon a ‘new’ love interest wh ...more

A truly delightful and life-affirming novel, “A Kiss for Emily” takes Emily (who is constantly hoping for that Perfect Kiss with a boy she can love) through an unexpected and unwanted move, from Topeka to way-into-the-country, where she encounters Sam, the most gorgeous guy she has ever seen, and too perfect to be true. Her heart breaking over Alex, whom she has loved for years but who has his own dysfun

This book, first instalment in a series, is difficult to review without giving the plot away. It is the story or seventen-year-old, keen musician Emily Stokes, who is obsessed with getting her first kiss with Alex, the boy she likes.

It takes a hundred pages for something to happen and distract Emily from fantasising about this boy. The Stokes move to the country! That's Mom, Dad, seven-year-old Kat, and Emily. Soon Emily meets Sam, the boy next door (a few miles away). And, of cou

The characters were all very likable. Though Emily was too melodramatic in the first chapter or so. I didn't believe her as a high schooler - she was acting much younger in my opinion. I do have to say that Sam is a way better weird love interest than Edward. Some of the explanations/plot complications were a bit hard to swallow - like the connected soul thing potentially being able to bring her down to Emily said, I don't think God would allow that sort of thing. Also, I have a hard ...more

This story was fairly good. It takes you on an emotional ride.

The plot had intrigue, romance, typical and not so typical teen tendencies, and mystery. It also had me so angry at times that I could have thrown it. Then there were the moments that I was full of angst, worried about what was going on.

I would have liked it more but I found Emily to be very annoying. She whined and was very bratty. It drove me crazy how she loved Alex so much and then she did a 180 and didn't care that he was hurting
