Overall: average with an interesting novella by Elizabeth Bear.

"Bruce Springsteen" by Paul McAuley - a strange tour through the strange countryside of a distant planet by two people driven to steal an alien object. References to Bruce Springsteen songs are, unfortunately, lost to this non-Springsteen fan.

"Recyclable Material" by Katherin Marzinsky - a robotic garbage disposal unit discovers an unusual object in the trash. Can it be recycled? Or should it be disposed of?
