Hazel would like me to give this book a higher rating based on the bird feathers she likes to rip out in handfuls, but I just can't get over the darkness of the concept of a bunny visiting other animals at the zoo. Sara likes to point out the risk of salmonella whenever we pat the turtle.

Took my daughter to Barnes and Noble today. Once I saw this book I had to get it for her. She enjoys feeling the textures for all of the animals. This is one of my favorite books that I’ve bought for her. I like the bird, turtle, frog and seal pages in the book.

Baby love love LOVES Pat the Bunny, so when I found this tucked away at my local Half Price Books there was no WAY I wasn't going to buy. Not disappointed! Baby loves it and we have read it many, MANY times and will be reading it many many more.

Kiddo is a big fan of Pat the Bunny and Peek-a-Boo Bunny, and so far the fluffy bird feathers in here are the hit of the last pile of kids' books I brought home, so...

Loved this more than the original! I liked the rhythmic cadence, the variety of animals, and the expansion of tactile experiences for the audience. The board book format wins out over the original, "Pat the Bunny," for sturdiness while the content is updated for the modern kiddos. I adored the turtles and the seals! While I did not add this to my personal library, I would consider it as a gift for others.

If you have a child who likes the book “Pat the Bunny” they will like this book. The same bunny from the original story takes a trip to the zoo to visit the animals. This is a medium size book with thick sturdy pages. It contains a variety of textures that a young child will enjoy feeling like a bird’s feathers, a lion’s fur, etc.

This well made book would make a nice gift for a young child.

Follow the Bunny as they travel through the zoo and pat the various animals. Readers will enjoy the range of textures and animals provided, but items such as feathers and sticky frog tongues won't stay present for long.

For: readers wanting a book with textures/animals.

Possible red flags: book may get easily destroyed through basic use.

My baby nephew, on the verge of 2 likes this touch (pat) feel book that has animals. I read it sometimes but he mostly likes the touch/pat feel parts and naming animals. Though besides that not much attention to the book, as he’s learning. But talks a lot more since it’s very easy to read this book together.

The simple text is perfect when the main goal when using this book with little readers is the touch and feel aspect. All those textures were so perfect and so varied!! Definitely need more like this in other stories!

This has lots of fun textures to tough, as one would expect. The bird's feather even seems to be hanging in there, although I wonder if the library has reattached it. The story is simple, rhyming and appropriate. I found the art to be rather uninteresting; nothing- the lines, colors, shapes, textures, etc- seems to be particularly expressive except the original wobbly bunny .

We first read this book when our baby was nearly 2 months old. She loved it then and she loves it now at nearly 10 months old. And now she is old enough to interact with us while we read it. She had a great time comparing soft and bumpy, smooth and wrinkly. And who can forget the sticky frog's tongue.

A great balance of words per page/picture, and also some of the bestest touch-n-feels around. I would go for a five star even, if it weren't for that pesky romanticized version of "Cagelandia" (as I like to call it).

Nice addition to the Pat the Bunny series. Lots of good textures for babies to explore. One page features a feather that can be easily ripped apart.
