This book is an overview of Christian history spanning from the Old Testament to the modern period. Its view is from a Western Christian perspective and so it is disappointing that much of Christian history is discarded to focus on one narrative.

The writing is very much an overview of the subject and the subheadings from newspaper style explanations felt naive, which made me think the book was aimed at teenagers. There was however no evidence to suggest that it was aimed at teenagers at all, which made me feel as to what the writing of this book was aimed at .

The book felt underwhelming but useful for reading by teenagers and people who want to understand history but haven't much time to read or only have limited reading ability.

Read this book in small snatches of time. Great book on an overview of Christian History. Glad I read it, I was so inspired by many points in history, it's too bad that mainstream knowledge seems to dwell on the mistakes made by people of faith never taking the time to note a bigger picture.
