Wait a minute. She is captured by Indians at the age of nine, and is now a young woman with a friendlier tribe. In comes hero and she not only can speak English like a pro, they are talking about and he's loaning her books. If my education had been stopped at the age of nine, I doubt I'd know who Shakespeare was...

Still free on Kindle if anyone really wants to bother.

This was a sweet historical romance. I say sweet because most of the sex scenes are behind closed doors. Lots of build up to be denied. Maybe it is because I like reading the hero and heroine finally having an intimate union.

My main trouble with the book was the span of time the story took place. Years. The hero shows up, then leaves....when he shows up again, it is for a few pages, then he is off again. It goes on for years. And if he does show up for the winter months, we don't see it. Time is
