A Little Scholastic board book for the youngest readers, up to three years of age.

Die-cut stars wink out as, one by one, each star finds a perfect place to hide. But they all came back to join the one remaining lonely star and together they sing a special star-bright song.

With bright colors, music, and interactive components, all designed to support learning for babies and toddlers, this sweet book is likely to become a favorite of parents and children alike.

Highly recommended.

January is learning about space/weather. This one is geared for younger children, which my youngest did enjoy. Learning counting with a cat and the nursery rhyme Twinkle Little Star.

Little Scholastic: Five Shiny Stars (Little Scholastic) by Gabriella Buckingham counts down from 5 stars to one in this die-cut board book which plays Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star on the last page.

I enjoyed seeing the cat in every colorful illustration. The die-cuts add interactivity. I found the electronic music a bit too much, though I did like the idea of adding the Twinkle verse. 3 star rating

"Five shiny stars were twinkling at the cat, looking very pretty in the sky like that." This book is fun to read aloud to my daughter, and is one of her favorites. The rhythm is smooth and sing-songy, and on the last page it plays Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Cute little story with repetitive language and cut-outs. It did not need the electronic version of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star at the end.
