If you're not overly familiar with the intricacies of astrology (which I'm admittedly not), then this book might come across as somewhat arcane or even nebulous. That having been said, it contains a storehouse of information on such. I simply wouldn't recommend it as a primer.

I really liked certain parts of this book. For example, its explanation of the energies between different square, such as Aries and Cancer and what each element can bring to the other is extremely helpful and unique among the many books I have read.

Like most books, there were parts that felt plodding and that I couldn’t wait to not have to read anymore. But the gems in this book make it worthwhile and I do recommend this book for its unique approach to the elements aspect of astrology.

I also, overall very much agree with his philosophical approach to life and how, absolutely everything, including horrific, difficult life experiences ultimately serves our development and purpose.
