Bingo the dog stars in this tribute to responsibility and newest addition to the New York Times bestselling series

Lulu and Bingo are camping for the very first time and they are so excited, especially Bingo. He keeps trying to explore on his own, and Lulu's family reminds her to keep a tight hold on Bingo's leash so he doesn't get lost. "Ladybug Girl would never let that happen!" declares Lulu. But during an imagination game, Lulu drops Bingo's leash for just a second and he runs off into the forest. This is a job for Ladybug Girl!

This outdoorsy addition to the spirited Ladybug Girl series is perfect for dog and nature lovers, and offers a gentle lesson about responsibility.

Just checked this out from the library and my daughter LOVES it. I almost think this one has some of the best illustrations out of all 4 that I've read, but the others are absolutely outstanding regardless. These really captured my attention because they were full page illustrations and the watercolor quality is just stunning.

The story - is also just as good. Love these books!

This is so delightful! I can imagine myself picking this up when I am blue and reading it as a special treat. Children's picture books can be charming and delightful and this one is more than 5 stars worth of both.

Ladybug girl is Lulu, a little girl who just happens to love insects and nature and enjoys wearing a cute ladybug costume around. One day she and her mom and dad and older brother set off with their hound dog Bingo to go on a camping trip. Lulu runs ahead with Bingo and finds a great place to set up the tent.

Dad puts Bingo on a leash and warns Lulu to keep hold of the leash and not let him run off and get lost in the woods. While the adults and the brother set up camp, Lulu and Bingo explore. This is where the wonderful illustrations add so much to this story. Lulu casts spells with a gnarly old wizard (a tree that looks like one of the Ents in Lord of the Rings), rides on a galloping giant turtle (a big smooth rock) and sips tea with the buttercup fairies (butterflies) in their secret garden (flowers by a small stream). I was so enchanted by this.

The family takes a canoe trip and Bingo in his life jacket looks to Lulu like a brave sea captain. This girl reminds me of my own creative imaginative self at her age. I love this girl!

Unfortunately, Lulu won't let her brother hold Bingo's leash even though Bingo nearly got away and when she goes exploring with him and ties him to a branch, an excited Bingo breaks loose and runs away!!!! Now Lulu must find her beloved dog before he is lost forever. Will she? What will happen next? Read and see. Expect a gorgeously illustrated appearance from Firefly Girl.

Really, adults miss out on so much by not reading children's books.

I didn’t expect to love the Ladybug Girl series but I do! From the vivid pictures, to the imagination of Lulu who, when dresses as Ladybug Girl, goes on many a fun adventure with her trusty beagle, Bingo, to the fact that each book has a strong moral to learn- this one being responsibility for a pet and the fun of a first camping trip 😊
It’s been a fun series to read with my Ladybug 🐞💝

Adorable illustrations, but the plot in this one is not as charming as the original. Still a cute read.

My favorite of the Ladybug Girl series, this book finds Lulu and Bingo on their first camping trip.

Lulu's imagination conjuring up gnarly old wizards from trees and buttercup fairies in a field is just as charming as the illustrations. The family goes canoeing and the two-page spread of them quietly drifting across a lake is beautiful. Then there are the nighttime scenes roasting marshmallows and discovering fireflies. These pages just exude childhood curiosity about the world around them.

We've read several stories in the Ladybug Girl series by David Soman and Jacky Davis. They feature a young girl and her friends who form a club. They all wear bug costumes and have "special powers."

In this story, Ladybug girl's family goes camping and she explores the great outdoors with her dog, Bingo. The narrative is entertaining and we loved her imagination, especially when she discovered a tree shaped like a gnarled wizard and a group of boulders shaped like a giant tortoise. The illustrations are terrific and the ending was amusing. Our girls have pretty much grown out of these stories, but we still enjoyed reading this story together.

This book was selected as one of the books for the August 2013 - Summer Outdoor Activities discussion at the Picture-Book Club in the Children's Books Group here at Goodreads.

David Soman's illustrations set a beautiful scene for this little outdoor adventure. Ever by Lulu's side in all the other Ladybug Girl books, finally Bingo gets his own story. This one really highlights the special relationship between child and dog.

Kinda boring, meandering and predictable, with a few cute moments. Feels like they're cashing in on the success of the much better original book; not impressed with either spin-off I've read . . . but my kid likes them.

Ladybug Girl's family goes camping. Even her dog Bingo comes along. Bingo is to stay leashed, but sometimes, Ladybug Girl can't quite keep him under control. It's a good story with lovely illustrations.

Lulu, while wearing a ladybug costume, went to camping with her family including Bingo, the dog. While setting a tent, Lulu and Bingo explored the campsite and got lost in her own imagination and created her own adventures.

Young children have a great imagination and outdoor areas are a great place to stimulate children’s creativity. Imagination from the real objects and environments could be considered as the extension of pretend play in childhood. It helps them to explore the surroundings and enjoy the world in their own ways. This picture book also describes children's imagination and their exploration to the nature. Wherever she went with Bingo, Lulu imagined various things such as a magic wand from a tree branch and a turtle from rocks. In addition to her imagination, I liked her costume of a ladybug which was outstanding at the campsite, and her brother could see her ladybug wings from the campground. While reading the story, I was worried about her getting lost and the irresponsibility of her parents, but Lulu and Bingo were within the distance of the parents’ sight anyway.

I read the original LADYBUG GIRL many years ago...and remember liking it. When I came across this title at the public library I had to read it. I'm glad I did....because I liked this one two.

The family is headed out for a camping trip and Lulu (a.k.a. Ladybug Girl) has been put in charge of holding Bingo's leash (so he can't runaway). But Lulu wants an adventure and she and Bingo head into the forest to look for unicorns, drink tea with the fairies, and ride a giant turtle. But the interesting smells make Bingo super excited and off he runs in to the woods. Brave Ladybug Girl has to find him...but when she does....will she be lost too?

The illustrations are wonderful and add much to the story. The paintings are a little undefined until it comes to Ladybug Girl and Bingo's activities and then everything is very clear and crisp. The font changes somewhat through the book to emphasis the words and if you notice LADYBUG GIRL is always in printed in red.

I especially like how it ends...but I'm not going to tell you...you have to read it for yourself.

First of all, I want to thank one of my Goodreads friends. She raved about one of the books in the Ladybug Girl series, and I promised to check it out if they had it at my local library (Loudoun Regional Library, in Sterling, Virginia).

Library day came today, and I went. Although I didn't find the particular Ladybug Girl title I was seeking, I took home two of these magnificent books, I read them and smiled in awe and sometimes LOLed, and I FELL IN LOVE.

ON TO REVIEWING LADYBUG GIRL AND BINGO

Child-sized yet soooooo vivid.

Everything you could ask for in a short (chapterless) novel was here:

* Suspense
* Conflict
* Amazing adventure

And then an adorable surprise ending.

Child-sized AND soooooo vivid.

Ladybug girl goes camping in the woods with her family and her dog Bingo. Ladybug girl and Bingo go to play in the woods when Bingo runs away. Ladybug girl searches the whole forest and finds Bingo behind a boulder. Ladybug girl has run so far into the forest that she can't find her way back to the campsite. Bingo helps her climb up onto a boulder where she sees her campsite and returns home.

Received 3 books in this series from my cousin (passed down from her daughter to mine). My 4 year old absolutely loves them, and I’ve really enjoyed reading about Lulu and Bingo’s adventures with her! This one has been great because we just went camping, and it has a sweet message about responsibility and courage. This isn’t part of the Miraculous TV series. Definitely recommend!

Lulu aka Ladybug Girl, and her family camp out overnight, and Lulu is excited to use her new sleeping bag. But no one is more excited to be in the woods than the family dog Bingo, he explores all the different sights, sounds, and smells, and gives Ladybug Girl a merry romp as she tries to keep up with him.

I love how David Soman shows what an imagination Lulu has. He also does a good job of portraying how objects would look from a child's perspective. I also liked her determination to find her dog and exaggeration of being lost. Sometimes what a child sees is better than reality.

This is so cute! Although this was too long for me to read it in storytime, I enjoyed it by myself beforehand, and I would recommend this to people looking for cute picture books about camping. This has a lot of fun details, and I love how the story portrays the main character's imagination.
