Shelves: history, elementary
Not only does a good job dealing with history, but has a smattering of hands-on activities just perfect for elementary students. I also appreciated the brief biographies in the sidebars.

Has quite a bit of information on all topics relating to the underground railroad.

This would be a good book to use when talking about slavery and important topics such as the underground railroad. Things brings up great topics such as freedom.
