Wallace & Gromit: Crackers in Space

Rate this book
It's the night before Gromit's birthday, and Wallace is in the shed planning a surprise: a party with lots of balloons and home-brewed cheese. It's a surprise, alright, when Wallace goes overboard with the helium, and the shed disappears into orbit where zero gravity makes the Home Brew Cheese Kit go into hyperdrive. Soon, Mr. Patel's greenhouse suffers a close encounter of the direct-hit kind and, with West Wallaby Street facing its very own "Edamgeddon," Wallace assembles a crack team to journey into the unknown. Thus, man and dog blast off into space, and with First Knitting Officer Wendolene and Bill "Cheesy" Cheeseman also aboard, Crackers in Space may be Wallace & Gromit's cheesiest mission yet.

This is the best of the four Tristan Davis Wallace & Gromit comics, but that's not saying much. Being a comic and not a short, it means there's a lot more things you can do with the world and concepts of Wallace & Gromit. They revisit the moon setting and try and make an existing adventure of it, a though the robot from a Grand Day Out doesn’t show up in this one. We get a return from the villain of the last comic which is just dumb as I never liked him in the first place, so why would I want to see him again? And unlike the other comics, Gromit actual doesn’t something and isn't just Wallace's sidekick, like in the shorts. Overall, this one is a fun enough comic for fans of the series, but you definitely not remember it after you've finished reading it. But either way, it's still better than Vengeance Most Fowl.
