Brooke McKaslin has come home to Montana in support of her younger sister Brianna. Bree is about to testify about the violent robbery that left her critically injured a year ago. The furthest thing from Brooke's mind is romance.
Liam Knightly is leery of females. The one he thought loved him, left him at the altar. He has moved back to Montana to help his ailing grandfather. He decides to buy a dog. He is having a hard time controlling his new best friend. Running after his dog is how he meets Br

I enjoy Jillian Hart books because they're like a cup of hot cocoa: sweet, and ultimately satisfying. I think I need to add one more hot cocoa quality to them: they're predictable. Not necessarily in a bad way, mind you. But, you know what you're going to get when you read one.
I liked Brooke, and how she was doing her best to overcome what had to have been an impossible situation. I liked Liam, and how he valued honesty. I loved Oscar! (What a goofball!) Even though the way things played out was

Thanks Jillian for my review copy.

This is the second book in the latest McKaslin series. Brooke is back from her sister Brianna's trial and is there to support her. She has been working in Washington state and is now without a job and back home for now. She is struggling with bad memories. Liam comes onto the scene with an adopted dog Oscar who has a some interesting traits. There is a major issue Liam is a reporter and she thinks he is using her to get a story. Also Liam is recovering from an n

The McKaslin Clan is one of my favorite series; though I must admit there are so many McKaslins that I'm beginning to get confused. This is the branch that whose father spent time in jail for couterfitting and has six children with 3 different women. This is Brooke McKaslin's story. She is the oldest daughter whose life was interrupted because of a deceptive boyfriend. She no longer trusts men with her heart. Then she meets Liam who doesn't trust women.
Be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions as Brooke McKaslin's story unfolds. You will laugh at the antics of Oscar the dog and feel anger as you find out what Brooke and Liam have had to go through in the past and, later, joy when you see the strength they must possess in order to attempt to forgive and get past it. The importance of support and family relationships is shown, and it is a very heartwarming story that I highly recommend.

The story is well written and the characters portrayed well, but like so many other novels in this series, the conflict and plot are the same. Even the description of the characters, as well as other descriptions, are the same. The only differences are the names of the characters and the circumstances.

Clean good fun. This is a inspirational romance Christian book. There was a lot of redundant passages about their emotions and such, needed a bit more variety but how much can you say in a clean way?
