I did not connect with this story right away, but I LOVED the title and knew it would be worth pursuing. Ever felt that way towards a book? That even though it doesn’t pull you in right away that once you get to the meat of the story, you know the end will make it worthwhile? Well, that’s what this book was like for me.

It bothered me to see how much Adrie worried about her future as a musician and that she was determined to not like Ross while everyone else sees God’s light in him. Then I consi

2.5 stars, and definitely my least favorite book by Carrie Turnansky (I normally love her books). Adrie was very insecure and seemed somehow both older and younger than 23. Older, because she had such a jaded view of love. (I thought she was in her late 30s at first.) Younger, because she was really immature and judgmental and pretty rude to Ross at times. I liked Ross a lot more than her, except I couldn’t really see what he saw in Adrie. It was cheesy and fairly predictable, and overall an oka ...more

I just got done reading Carrie Turansky's newest contemporary romance A Man to Trust. It is rare for me to finish a book in under two weeks, but this one kept me turning the pages to that final sweet happily ever after in just a few days.

Adrie Chandler plans to leave her job in Fairhaven, Washington at her Nana's bookstore behind to pursue her dream. An accomplished flutist, she has prepared all her life for a seat in a professional orchestra. All she needs is a reliable, trustworthy man to ass

Oops- I guess this was the second book of a sort of series. Luckily, it has different characters, so it didn't really matter. It's set at a Christian Book shop, so ya, it's Christiany.
Carrie Turansky's A Man to Trust focuses on Adrie Chandler and Ross Peterson. Adrie is living in Fairhaven and running her grandmother's Christian bookstore. She is a kind individual, but is acutely aware of having suffered an immense betrayal in her past. Ross is the new manager at the store and is suffering his own disappointments after his business was forced to shut down.

I don't think I'm giving away to much in saying that this book focuses on Adrie and Ross's friendship and romance consider

Love Inspired has released a new Carrie Turansky romance. A Man to Trust is one of those stories to take with you to a comfortable chair, slump down, and read to your heart's content.

Adrie has suffered through betrayal and rejection. Because of it, she 's lost her ability to trust strangers, especially good looking strangers. Her dream is to be a symphony flutist, but before she can go after it, she must help her grandmother find a manager to run her Christian bookstore. Ross is an outgoing and

I kind of feel this book would have been a 2.5 but I rounded it up.

Characters - I liked the characters but I just didn't have a great connection with them. I feel like Adrie dragged her feet a bit much and that Ross should have pushed harder. (1/2 Star)

Plot - The story was good, I really enjoyed reading this book. However, I would have liked a little less of Adrie dragging her feet towards the relationship and maybe more back story about her missionary parents and her life there. More back story

I really enjoyed this book as a light romance. Although this is a story all about romance, the issues faced by Ross and Adrie are real and make the reader think. Would I be able to stay faithful to the Lord if all my dreams seemed to dry up and blow away? Is chasing after your dream worth any expense? The refreshing part of this novel is that neither Adrie nor Ross are whiny about the things in their lives that seem to be obstacles to what they want. Each realistically and believable struggle to ...more

A photographer and a flutist thrown together at, of all places, a book store. As we look in on Adrie and Ross, we see two people struggling with past mistakes, and the future they see for themselves. Neither are looking for love, but love finds them. In true Love Inspired fashion, Carrie Turansky takes us to the town of Fairhaven where love blooms between the unsuspecting as God looks on, laughing at the struggles humans put themselves through.

Ms. Turansky's excellent writing and storytelling dr

I read A Man to Trust and thoroughly enjoyed the story of Adrie and Ross. The tension between the two was just right. He’s flirty and she’s a little reserved which is what makes this one such fun! I thought Adrie’s desire to make sure she made the correct decision about her future and her hesitancy to trust Ross was presented in realistic fashion. After all, he’s a new believer and a girl can’t be too careful. Right? Thankfully, she learns to trust him because he lives his new found faith and pr ...more

Small town Fairhaven is the perfect setting for this sweet story of dreams and losses, friendship and love. Ross, our hero, has experienced a loss, as he had to close his photography studio due to the economy. Grandma hires Ross to manage the book store so Adrie can pursue her dream of playing her flute professionally. As in Ms. Turansky’s other book set in Fairhaven, Seeking His Love, the characters are well-developed and are realistic, the story develops naturally and comfortably, with enough ...more

I received this book in a goodreads giveaway. Most romance novels have a pattern and you can often predict just what will happen to bring the characters together in the end. I honestly was looking forward to see what would bring them together. The message behind the book was as important to the development of the book as the story itself. A fun and inspirational read!

This was a sweet little story. I liked 'meeting' Adrie, and enjoyed reading more about Ross. The background of northern Washington State was lovely, too. A good story about learning how to trust that God's plans for us are good, all the time.

Simple and sweet, though Adrie did drive me a little nuts. I'm also not entirely sure I love the way things resolved at the end.
