This is one of the best Brenda Jackson books I have read in a long while. It almost seems like she went back to her writing roots for this one. Angelo was a hero you couldn't help but to love. He was so caring and attentive toward Peyton from the very beginning, and Peyton needed that type of nurturing to break out of her shell. Their chemistry was great, and they had a lot of passionate love scenes as well, but these two really had a good foundation built with their friendship, and that made th ...more

Another great Madaris novel by Brenda Jackson! Angelo is hot and Peyton is just the right woman for him. Looking forward to Lee Madaris story next!
I really had no intention of starting this book just yet because it's part of a series and I don't knowingly read series out of order. I just found myself reading on and finding it to be an enjoyable story (*whispers* not to mention the level of steaminess was quite difficult to resist...LOL). I will also blame the status updates in my feed for upping my curiosity level. Oh and I also wanted to read a book that had a publication date in 2012. I know, I know, it's superficial of me but I wanted t ...more

I'm not one that has been much of the Romantic type of reader, and although I knew this book dealt with romance, I decided to take a chance on it anyway because I also love a great legal thriller. Well, I didn't get much legal in the book, but it is fair to say the love affair between DeAngelo Di Meglio and Peyton Mahoney was well worth the read.

When Peyton's girlfriends send her on a well deserved vacation, a break from her law firm, she had no idea she was being set up. There was a mysterious

The story is very hot! Thier is lots of love scenes and more sex talk around the story of Angelo and Peyton.
Angelo for the past two years have thought a lot of Peyton is sister's best friend since law school. So he convinced his sister Sam & Mac another friend to send Peyton to a resort he is part owner of a singles resort.
Then he was going to follow her down their and see what happens.
Peyton is going to turn 30 and her two best friends since law school has sent her to a singles resor

Eighteen books later, the Madaris family and their friends are still going strong. After working on an especially stressful and high-profile case, attorney De Angelo Di Meglio has decided to take some well deserved time off to devote to an equally important project: winning the heart of Peyton Mahoney. Because Peyton is his sister Samari's best friend, their paths have crossed quite often over the years and De Angelo is hoping to have her see him as more than just a brother figure and he hatches ...more

This was my first Jackson book, a problem when it's like #18 in a series. Lots of references to many friends and relations who had already coupled off in previous books. It wouldn't have been too annoying, but coupled with the cliche-ridden prose and the flat characters, I found this distinctly unmemorable.

Peyton, Peyton, Peyton . . . . . She had a chip on her shoulder and De'Angelo ate it!!! Very sweet story, one that shows how being vulnerable with the right person can change your life and lead to one filled with happiness and love! I can't wait to read Lee's story!

Mrs. Jackson is back! She wowed me with this one. The romance was steamier. The man was hotter and the story was original. I recommend this one to all, without hesitation. A truly great read, well done!

I would've gave it 5 stars but Peyton was just so damn annoying to me. I loved Angelo.

Overall, Courting Justice is a good read.
It is about the romance of two friends. Or two almost friends. I say almost friends because although Peyton and Angelo know each other through family and friends, they don’t really know each other. They are lawyers who end up at a treat to relax after grueling cases.
I don’t know if I am missing out on something by having not read all of the Madaris Family and Friends series. But I was able to keep up. Like with other series, previous couples are mentioned

Brenda is back on her game with Courting Justice. This was a great story with steamy live scenes and a great background story. I love the fact that Angelo is bi-racial. It shows that today's Black woman shouldn't limit her self in the dating pool. Men don't.

The book also reflects on how women get caught up with the things they have not accomplished by the time they reach an age that ends with 0. Peyton was turning 30 and was concerned that she didn't have what her friends did. She was happy fo

Courting Justice was the latest installment in Brenda Jackson's Madaris & Friends series and I must say this book was very good and sizzling. Angelo DiMigelo knew what he wanted and realized Peyton Mahoney was it. He set a plan in motion and pulled out the big guns to win the love of his life. Peyton was a hard one to break with past issues that carried over from college and basically ruled her life to where the "chip on her shoulder" was a permanently embedded in her skin. Through patience ...more

Another HOT and STEAMY read by Mrs. Jackson...the passion between Angelo and Peyton is OFF-THE-CHARTS...once he decides to claim her as his woman...he takes her on quite a ROMANTIC journey...Angelo pours his heart and soul into COURTING Peyton...and even though she enjoys herself IMMENSELY...she FIGHTS him every step of the way due to some MAJOR baggage...can Angelo knock the HUGE chip off Peyton's shoulder...and show her what TRUE love really is...or will she lose him to her ...more

DiAngelo DiMeglio is one smooth brother that's trying to win the love of one of his sister's best friends, Peyton. He knew that she was one tough cookie, however he did not know that dealing with the chip on her shoulder was going to be hard work. He showed her that social status and how someone grew up was no match for the love that him and his family had to offer. Awesome read with lots of juice from start to finish!

4 out of5. Fine novel that introduced me to a different family saga by an author I really enjoy most of the time. Found this story to be very entertaining--two people of color who have achieved much in their chosen profession but whose personal lives were empty and whose attraction to one another was short-circuited often by the heroine's prejudice against those who had money. A really good book.

Courting Justice

This title three me for a loop.. It wasn't at ball what I thought that it would be about! I enjoyed reading a book that was about something real, the haves and the have nots! Sometimes people with money do fall in love with people from different walks of life. This book showed that special love. Peyton faced her fears and doubts to become e Angelo's wife!

"Peyton Mahoney and DeAngelo DiMeglio are two powerhouse attorneys in the Madaris circle of friends. They steam up the pages of this latest entry. Happily for romance fans, there's more between-the-sheets action than courtroom drama in Jackson's can't-miss latest." RT Book Review, rated 4 1/2 stars

I love it!!! Angelo is one hot Italian stallion in every since of the word. When he decided to go after Peyton she didn't stand a chance. Love the hot and steamy sex scenes. I love how Angelo started tearing down Peytons walls. I really love how the ending played out. What a way to celebrate your birthday Peyton. :).

Brenda Jackson is an excellent romance author! Her love scenes are sexual and very romantic! I love her writing style. This is the classic tale of a boy who meets girl, he falls in love with the girl, pursues her and ultimately ends up marrying her.

Keep up the good work, Brenda! You always deliver!

I received this as an ARC from Harlequin at the ALA Conference in Anaheim, and I have to say, I really liked it. This was my first foray into the Madaris family series, and I will be reading the others. It's safe to say that I've become a Brenda Jackson fan.

This book is good. Not one of her greatest, but it was a good read it you want some good romance with some erotic in it. I am hooked on her books. I especially love to listen to them as I travel to work. They definitely put a smile on my face.

This 18th book's story line was okay. The settings in this story sounded beautiful. I liked Angelo's character. Angelo sounded very sexy. Peyton's attitude kind of got on my nerves. I liked the ending. I also liked the updates on the other Madarises.
