Divine Alignment: How Godwink Moments Guide Your Journey

Rate this book
Mega-bestselling author of the Godwinks series, Squire Rushnell offers readers seven steps to learn to grow more aligned with God using your internal GPS, becoming more effective, successful, and fulfilled in everything you do.

It’s happened to you.

You received a phone call out of the blue; or you bumped into someone who led you to a new job, a new relationship, or opportunity that totally changed your life. You probably even said, “Wow, what a coincidence I met so and so.” But did you ever stop to ask what caused that person to be right there, at that exact moment, in your path? It was Divine Alignment: the arrangement of coincidences into a pattern of alignment so astonishing they could have come only from a higher source.

In this inspiring new work, SQuire Rushnell shows readers how they can navigate life’s thorniest hurdles, rediscover the deep meaning and impact of personal prayer, and develop the individual conviction and wherewithal it takes to reach their full potential and fulfill their most ambitious dreams by honoring the book’s seven easy-to-follow steps.

In his charmingly avuncular and wonderfully optimistic voice, SQuire shares moving stories from his own and others’ lives to show the awesome strength inherent in what he calls God’s Positioning System, or GPS. All of us, he assures readers, can use our own personal GPS to grow more closely aligned with God to become vastly more effective, successful, and fulfilled in our relationships, careers, and everything we do.

This book is about how God Winks guide your life. It is basically about how everything happens for a reason, and that certain coincidences can only come from a higher source, aka, God. This book lists seven steps to get your life on track and how to build a better relationship with Him. It refers to God as the Navigator and it talks about your GPS; your God Positioning System. You have to program a normal GPS right? The same goes from your own God Positioning System. The more you learn about and talk to the Navigator, the better you will be at controlling the GPS inside of you! The analogy of viewing God as the Navigator really helped me understand how powerful He is. This book is a great inspiration! I recommend it to anyone trying to further strengthen their relationship with God. It is a very good read, and I will surely read it again! Maybe I will highlight and mark in it this time. :)

I guess your rating of a book depends to great degree on the timing of its coming into your life. I have been aware of Godwinks for quite some time and have been noticing their happening more and more in my life. After reading this book, I really do not believe there are many true coincidences. I do believe things happen for a reason; I believe in angels; I believe in Godwinks. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a quick read and not filled with hit-you-in-the-face-and-make-you-want-to-vomit evangelism. Author Squire Rushnell has an enlightening website as well.

Divine Alignment was given to me by Mother which is appropriate for me because she taught me as a little girl to always keep God at the center of my life. This book defines 7 ways to get back in line with God as he defines purpose in our lives. This book is a great reminder that people and situations happen for a reason. These "God winks" are signs that help us focus in the right direction. This thought provoking book reminds me to pay attention to the coincidence, or divine alignments, in my life.

I have read this book twice now and I know I will read stories from it again and again. Rushnell's GOD WINKS have been wonderful and this goes way beyond those. I had two God winks while reading this!

This book had some nice stories that were pretty amazing. My favorite part of the book was towards the end where he talks about near death experiences and how people have seen heaven and God.

I found this book very interesting but it kind of dragged on, I’m not sure what exactly I was looking for as I was reading this but it just wasn’t quite what I wanted.

I believe that if you are of the Christian faith you will resonate with this book and you will love it. However if you hold different beliefs it may not be for you. I still got some tidbits from this book that I’ll carry with me but not enough for me to recommend it to someone. I didn’t realize it was really focused around Christianity before I picked it up.

I didn't read this book cover to cover but I do love the cover! I saw a double rainbow on my wedding anniversary a couple of years ago and I love this topic of God Winks. My life feels quite divine when I count them all up. What a deep dive into all the synchronistic moments that people feel are supernatural. This kind of book reminds you to pay attention to your spiritual health. Here's the biggest endorsement of this book I could give it I guess. Check me out on my mother's birthday reading this book and what happened when I put it to my heart and asked a question. I created a YouTube short about it because I was not about to have God mad at me for not sharing the grace with others: https://youtube.com/shorts/65knF7XMbY...

This was a hard one for me to rate, as the " feel good stories" are great, but my Lutheran theology kept reminding me that some of this is not Biblically sound. I have to be reminded myself, just because you believe in God, that does not mean your life is going to be easy or not have problems. With that being said, some of the miraculous stories are awesome to read, and I have one myself so that I can relate fully to!

I really enjoyed this book. I totally believe in Divine Alignment. I believe God will put us with strangers or in situations where the outcome can't be expected and His power is highly visible. These situations usually make clear His love for us.

This is an exceptional book that clearly told me exactly what’s been happening in my life all along, but maybe moreso in the last 12 months. I am open to godwinks and seeing them very clearly right now.

HIGHLIGHTS:
1. God is working behind the scenes connecting invisible threads for your life to unfold.

2. God answers prayers, even if it takes years.

3. Ask for directions to the Navigator (God). Thought pops in your head or divine suggestion from someone you are with.

4. Provide FULL attention. Engage in daily communication. Write to God in journal, inner sense.

5. Whenever lost or directionless, go back to the Navigator.

"Each of us is born with a built-in GPS system. God's Positioning System." This was how was book started so I just assumed that it would be interesting realizing that God is "intertwined" into our lives everyday. As I continued through the journey of having Godwink moments happen through others and reading their stories to see if it was true. All of the stories somehow proved to have Godwink moments included in them.
I enjoyed this book because I like reading books about how God can move in our lives; however, I did get really bored towards the middle because I felt like it was just reading story after story. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the stories espicially one that was in the beginning of a guy that went down a road that nobody travels down when he knew he shouldn't. He continued down the horrible road that everybody says not to go down. He ended up seeing a boy on top of his car which saved the boy. It made him wonder what if he wouldn't have gone down that road that night? I really enjoyed that story! If you are looking for a book that has stories about how God has moved in others lives, this is a perfect book for you!

This was recommended by a born again friend, though the principles put forth here can be found in many other contexts. I'm not a big fan of Christian lingo, but if you can get past that this is an enlightening and useful book, as it teaches what many have observed, that there is way too much coincidence to be coincidence. The author was president of children's programming at one of the networks, and he has a tendency toward the cutesey, so, if you don't like that and you don't like Christian phraseology then you've got two things to get past. But the stories he tells are inspiring. I found myself crying while reading the story of Emmanuel and Sandy Patti, which was a bit embarrassing as I was sitting in a doctor's waiting room at the time. But there is no doubt that following the principles taught in this book will make your life better, and that's what it's about.

Divine Alignment was given to me as a gift by my Mother-In-Law. This book is an interesting perspective on the workings of God without being overly religious, or pushing one religion. Rushnell defines 7 ways to get back in line with your God defined purpose in life. He describes in detail that although God has His plan for us, we are the ones that actually put his plan in action. People come into our lives that help shape us for our next step toward our ultimate reward, eternity in heaven. Divine Alignment is a thought provoking book that will leave you feeling happy about the coincidence, or divine alignments, in your life.

This book wasn't as fascinating as I thought it would be, but that could be partly because some of the stories that he cites and summarizes, I had already read or at least had heard about.
The main thing that I took away from this book is to not necessarily look at "coincidences" as coincidences, but more as a Godwink, as the author likes to call them. He thinks that these coincidences could actually are actually and probably, pre-arranged by God.
His catchy descriptions and terminology are amusing as well, such as: "Talk to the navigator", referring to God.

I didn't get past page 104 with this one. To be honest, I think I speed-read or skipped a lot of pages to get to that point. I loved the title and I loved the dust jacket description. However upon further reading, I felt I was being inundated with all of the religious overtones.

Although this book wasn’t my cup of tea, I’m sure that readers who enjoy books in the Christian genre will find that this book, which features story after story of other people’s personal “god winks,” very inspirational.

From one of the "Schoolhouse Rock!" creators, the author addresses all those instances where the right people are in the right places as we make our own journey in this life. The stories he shares and other anecdotal comments help define the points he's making and how to implement these examples. A thoughtful read that is informative as well as entertaining.

For me, this was a good refresher course in staying connected to God and recognizing the gifts that He gives to those who do. The rating is not based on the subject (which gets the highest marks) but on the writing which was a bit sluggish at times. I know several people with whom I want to share this book.

Great stories interspersed throughout. Great biographical overviews of people you know and some you've never heard of. Overall though, it was a slow process to read through but great for people that need help tuning into God.
