Pack and Coven
3.5 Stars

Harry Smith enjoys his life as a lone wolf until he is targeted to become the co-alpha of the local pack. Harry's only choice is to escape, but he cannot do it alone. Help comes from a most unexpected source - June Travis, owner of the local tea shop and a witch concealing her true nature. As Harry and June hide from his pursuers, they find their mutual attraction can no longer be denied even if it costs them their lives and their love.

Giving this a 3.5 stars - It was really a cute story - but I don't know if it's because I wasn't feeling well, or if I just didn't seem to connect well with the main characters. Well mostly June.

Usually when I read a book I can get their look and voice and everything in my head and read the book as that character - but June just kind of had one of those really .... June Cleaver type attitudes. And I guess it just didn't go well with the way it read in the book.

It was really a cute story though

Dirty Harry.

I read my first book from this author, The Whole Truth, last month and loved it. I fell in love with the unique characters and fascinating magic and was keen to try another of Jody's books. I decided on this one and am glad I did! Although, she did warn me that this would have a lot more sex in it - which I thought perfectly acceptable since this is Paranormal Romance and The Whole Truth was Urban Fantasy - but I think perhaps what she was preparing me for was not just the amount o

Hot damn, now THIS is the kind of paranormal romance I’ve been looking for!

It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a paranormal romance this much, especially one involving werewolves. (Don’t get me wrong; I love werewolves. I’m just sick to death of “fated mates”…) This is the first of Jody Wallace’s stories that I’ve read, but it won’t be the last.

The highlight of Pack and Coven was – hallelujah! – the characters. Harry and June were fantastic. BOTH of them are smart, strong, and funny; both of t

Pack and Coven by Jody Wallace Page is a paranormal romance available on e-readers and as an audio book. Harry Smith is a lone wolf and is doing everything in his power to stay that way. However, he is also an alpha wolf and the local pack wants to bring him into the fold, whether he wants in or not. He does not want to leave, he has a favorite place to eat and a group of people he likes to spend time with. Now he is trying to stay free, with a little unexpected help. June has been a friend and ...more

The Good: This book has a unique premise to me in a couple of ways and I like that. First, there's a very different explanation for where witchcraft can come from. I don't want to spoil it since it's a central part of June/Sandie's story and mystery, but it's nice to see an author take a fresh stab at mythology and to also try and tie wolves and witches together in a new way. Additionally, the other premise I love is that June is a long-lived witches and that, in turn, witches end up going throu ...more

My Review:
B+ hot
I really loved this book. It was so different from everything out there on the market today and, on top of that, it was completely entertaining. Harry is a lone wolf. He has no desire to become part of a pack after an incredibly horrible pack event ended in the death of his mother when he was ten. But he is still a wolf, and as such, he is drawn to people. As a result, he has formed a small group of friends in town with the towns elderly women. He plays bunco with them, goes to m

Original Take on Shapeshifters!

Werewolf politics are so complicated it's no wonder Harry Smith wants nothing to do with being part of a pack. But when the local pack loses their Alpha male and he becomes the most sought after man in the area it'll take something magical to get out of being forced into the job. Enter June, one smokin' hot young woman who offers him her help. But what Harry doesn't know is that June's much closer to him than he realizes. Under a special spell she's been running th

Maga

Harry is an independent werewolf, who has no desire to join a pack. But the local female alpha has different ideas. After her husband gets carted off to jail, she tries to force Harry to step up. He doesn't have many options, until June steps forward.

June is a witch, but her kind keep their existence a closely guarded secret. In fact, she has hidden behind the disguise of an old woman for years. She and Harry have been close friends, but he had no idea about who she really was or what she really

Pack and Coven is a sweet paranormal romance with a bit of a (non-sexy) thrill. I liked (but didn't love) both of the lead characters: Harry is an adorable loner and June is a rather prim witch who's been in love with Harry for quite some time, even though he only knows her as Sadie, the sweet older woman who owns the local tearoom. She's forced to reveal her true self and the fact that she's a witch when the female Alpha of the local werewolf pack, Bianca, tries to force Henry into becoming her ...more

As I write this review and I see the cover of Pack and Coven after reading the book, the cover model for Harry is not right at all. He's too piddly looking, the facial hair just doesn't cut it I'm afraid.

Pack and Coven has a very well written world with some really great characters. The good guys are more than likeable and the bad guy is downright scary and has the ugliest personality. Definitely someone you want to see bad things happen to.

Highly recommended to any werewolf and witchy fans and

This is really between a three and four star read for me because I had trouble connecting with the hero. I loved the heroine and the author's world was original and fresh. I really enjoyed the humor and the chemistry between the couple. The hero seemed rather selfish to me, and though I did like him in many ways, I thought he was rather whiny. Ms. Wallace has a fun style of writing, and I loved her take on witches and shifters.

Made it about 75 pages before giving up. I just wasn't sympathetic to either character. And they seemed to be going in circles as to where they should hide out. I was bored and didn't care about continuing.
