Secret Weapon: How Economic Terrorism Brought Down the U.S. Stock Market and Why It can Happen Again

Rate this book
A New York Times bestseller!

Who’s really to blame for America’s catastrophic financial meltdown and devastating national recession? Contrary to what the “Occupy Movement” might tell you, it’s not just greedy Wall Street executives (though they certainly earned their share of scorn). It’s not just failed regulation (even though Washington has failed miserably, both Republicans and Democrats, to protect us). As one of America’s top financial professionals reveals in this shocking new book, the failures of Wall Street and Washington have opened us up to economic warfare, with our foreign enemies exploiting our lurking financial weaknesses.

In Secret Weapon , Kevin D. Freeman unveils how all the evidence—including motive, means, and opportunity—points to America’s foreign enemies as deliberately pushing our economy over the brink.
In this stunning exposé, Freeman

The evidence linking Communist China and Islamic finance to economic warfare against the United States
Why initial reports linked the 2008 stock market crash to economic terrorism—and why the Obama administration continues to look the other way
How the financial attack unfolded—and how the perpetrators tried to cover their tracks
Why you should expect another financial attack even more devastating than the last one—and how you can protect yourself from it

In Secret Weapon you’ll learn what our enemies know and what the Obama administration has chosen to ignore—that our financial system is profoundly vulnerable to financial terrorism, and that we are being targeted for further and even more destructive attacks by our enemies, who want to cripple America as the world’s leading economy. If you want to protect yourself and protect our country, then you need to read Secret Weapon to understand how we have entered a new age of warfare—an age our enemies want to make the Dark Ages of the United States.

Freeman jumps to a lot of conclusions that seem to be a reach. He is also oddly fascinated with George Soros and the SEIU.

I read this and as I was progressing through it I believed that the problem it railed against was less and less worrisome.

Very informative read! Pleasantly surprised how the author challenged my view on the situation surrounding the 2008-9 financial crisis and recession. Terrorists and enemy nation states indeed appear to have new "wunderwaffe" in the form of economic tools that we need to advocate protection against.

The quantum leaps required to take the “evidence” as proof are too much to overcome.

Also, if you look at the index, check out how many times “George Soros” is mentioned. His status as the Baba Yaga of the author borders on obsession

Exposes the vulnerable state of the American (and the world) economy

Published in 2012 by Regnery Publishing, Inc.

When I was reading this book I was tempted to make a sort of smart-aleck introduction about the complex nature of Kevin Freeman's warning about the dangers we face by way of economic terrorism. After all, Paul Revere just rode through the streets yelling, "The British are coming! The British are coming!" and that was enough. But, after a little thought I realized that Freeman can't just yell, "The economic terrorists are coming! The economic terrorists are coming!" It has to be explained and that explanation is long and can be full of statistics and new terminologies.

I am a licensed high school economics teacher and I can honestly say that I knew just enough about finance, the real nitty-gritty of the to and fro of the markets, to say that this book is downright scary. It is the proverbial "firebell in the night" that screams out that we have some serious weaknesses in the way we do business in America...

Heavily referenced case for a sober view of the world as a Jungle with packs of countries planning and plotting to find a way to remove the US from its status as a top species in the food chain.
I've read through about 26% to-date - Freeman's inferences are spooky. They've removed many layers of the "safe" feeling I had about this country's culture and prospect for continued high standard of living.

I'm hoping for concrete suggestions to address the alarms he is raising.

Reading with an electronic interface (I'm using the PC Kindle reader) makes it very easy to divert quickly to a reference - often to a reference link - that allows virtually immediate inclusion of the referenced material into the book-read. Makes the read take longer but also makes it feel more valuable.

Mr. Freeman brings up some interesting points about "financial terrorism", but assumes too much with out evidence.

Freeman also has some love-hate relationship with sorors? In nearly every example Sorors is either quoted or blamed.

Also some errors in the book. "Long Term Capital went belly up, requiring the New York Fed to bail it out with a $3.6 billion investment." The fed orchestrated the bail with 14 financial institutions. The fed it's self did not give funds to LTCM.

I recommend the book "currency wars" over this one. Though Jim Rickards book is bias, it is still better than this one.

This book explained so much about the 2008 financial collapse that no one else has brought forth. I suppose the media and the government don't want to imagine that such could, and did happen to our financial system and is so likely to happen again. Thanks to the author for clearly recommending ways to be prepared. I will be revamping my portfolio soon! God bless Mr. Freeman and God help America.

The book is kind of confusing because the financial "weapons" are complex. My short takeaway is, we're screwed sooner or later, and our stupid government & especially our elected officials are fiddling while Rome burns. I was hoping for a silver bullet ending telling me how I can best protect our assets.

If you really want to know part of the story about the recession and how western economies have been under attack over the years, then read this book.

Kevin Freeman the author found that has opinons were shared by someone in the Pentagon. When he presented his paper to them, events that had occured, started to make sense.

A recomended read if ever there was one.

This book should be read by every American. People of both parties need to get their heads out of their asses and work together to stop this. Economic terrorism will bring down conservatives and liberals alike. We should demand our representatives do something about this, no matter what their party is.

Slow, difficult read, but that is due to my lack of financial intelligence. Subject is scary, and is something a lot of people smarter than me should explore.
