YA speculative fiction isn't usually my thing (I usually go for meatier fare), but I've been devouring a lot of different books lately and the premise of this plot seemed intriguing. I think I'm the wrong audience for this genre (i just have no desire to read about high school problems). I see this as a book that could be a favorite for a 13-14 year old. this book is perfect for teens who love the Twilight trend (but with a little more action).
I really like the relationship between beau and his twin. I'm not a huge fan of Rose but I do like how she influences beau's character development.

It doesn't matter that I love this author in real life--I would still have rated this five stars even if I didn't know her at all! Great, realistic fiction with just a little sprinkle of paranormalcy to spice things up. I especially loved how there is a "soundtrack" (and I love Secondhand Serenade!). What a clever idea. So grateful for ebooks and iPhones so that I could read this book!

My sister (who is friends with the author) recommended this book to me. I really enjoyed it! It went places I didn't anticipate and kept me turning pages to the end. I will definitely read future installments!
