This is a very unique little book arguing for a shift toward more precise, modest, and "weak" forms of comparison in religious studies. Lincoln offers this as an attempt to "do better" in the face of a field that too often slips into defending "religion" by offering feel-good scholarship, confusing what some have called the "post secular" situation. Lincoln's focuses on Zorastrianism, Norse mythology, and Hesiod are refreshing and thoughtful.
