Entertaining illustrations of the dogs, reminiscent of early "It's the Crew" by Marcus D'Ambrose. But beyond that, the book falls flat. The characters aren't fleshed out, merely cardboard cutouts like those in a Sookie Stackhouse novel. And the baseball game is the most overdone baseball prose that's ever been done. This was a great book about a boy named Alex and a dog Homer that loved baseball. Homer was on a dog team called the Doggers kind of like the Dodgers. Alex didn't know he played baseball and one night he snuck out to play the championship game. The Doggers were down by one point and Homer was up to hit. Does he make a grand slam to help his teammates score the winning point? You will just have to read the book to find out. If you like baseball like my son then you wil love this book.

A great concept that was just unfortunately not well executed. The pictures of the dogs just look awkward and strange. This is just not a great book. I think kids will enjoy it for the dogs and the baseball, but certainly not for the story or the illustrations.

Cute story. I mean, who knows for real what dogs are dreaming about? We hear them wimpering, and kicking/running. A fun idea of what they could be dreaming about. I LOVE the illustrations, and I think students would love the "photograph" style.

The "photographs" were fun but the plot was mediocre.

Normally I don't like sports books at all but this one was very unique, any kid that is excited about baseball and dogs will love it.

Homer is a dog who loves baseball. He goes to the baseball field to play ball with his other puppy friends. Will the Doggers beat the Hounds in their star-lit game?

I'm not a fan of sports books, but the creative collage-style pictures of dogs playing baseball will appeal to dog lovers young and old.

This is not William Wegman, but kids will love it. I may even have to get a copy for Gaylynn. Even though she's retired this is a fun pairing of her favorites, dogs and baseball.

Very cute book that can't not put a smile on your face. Pictures of real dogs photoshopped to look like they're actually standing and playing the game.
