Women Under Construction by Tifphanie Tucker, for me, was almost a self-renewal book. The book itself is very well written and gives great comparisons. The author compares her work (construction) to her relationship with God. Honestly, I have never thought about some of the main points she presents throughout the book. Since finishing and also, while reading the book, I found myself spending more time in prayer and working towards bettering my relationship with God and making myself into a bette ...more

This book written by Tifphanie Tucker is a very good guide to all women who want to live a better life. Tifphanie is an African American woman who is a licensed contractor. In this book she compares our lives to building a house. God is the Master Architect in building your life and we need to base our vision on his word. We need to survey our life frequently and have a strong foundation with our belief in God. All of the challenges that come our way in life are God's way of helping to mold us. ...more

Although this book is titled Women Under Construction, I think that it is a great book for anyone to read, male or female. The lessons that Tifphanie Tucker writes about affect all of us and thinking outside of the box will help us get out of the rut that many of us find ourselves in. Overall I found this book to be very helpful and insightful. I am not a big reader of the Christian Genre and this book is listed in that category I am happy that I decided to read the book. It inspired my faith an ...more

I loved this book! Tifphanie Tucker, who has succeeded in her profession as a general contractor even though it is a difficult market for women, uses the idea of building a house to illustrate her relationship with God. This book challenged me to work hard to improve my walk with God, and explained everything is easy to understand terms. It honestly made me take a look at my life and what I could do to improve! I would recommend this book to anyone, but I think that professional women will relat ...more

Truly an inspirational book for anyone. The author did a fantastic job of really making me think about my life and how I could make it better, and, in the process will help make the lives of loved ones better too. I am not a very religious person, but appreciated all of the Bible quotations with explanations on how to apply it today and everyday. I have noticed a difference in myself for the better since reading this book -A must read for everyone!

Women Under Construction, by Tifphanie Tucker, was a great inspirational and insightful book. The author is imparting lessons that will help women build a successful life by forcing us to reevaluate the meaning of success for most (including me) success is defined by my career, income, home, education etc but Ms. Tucker would like us to think outside the box so to speak. It is very easy to become caught up in the idea of success and the inevitable feelings of failure especially if you are respon ...more

This is a good little book for Christians to assess their lives and set goals to build one's "life house." It can even be used as a workbook, with practical tips to build, maintain and protect your spiritual home. I'm going to pass it on to my sister, as I received it through a Goodreads giveaway. Thanks!
