The book, as the title suggests, is a study and defence of neo-Aristotelian essentialism — a topic which overlaps with my own research interests. David is also one of the contributors in my Contemporary Aristotelian Metaphysics volume. More news about the volume will follow soon…

This book is excellent. It provides a very clear and well argued defense of Real Essentialism (in dialogue with those who would reject it), articulating the claims and consequences of realism in many different areas of thought (including philosophy of mind, biology, and so on). A must read for anyone intetested in questions related to metaphysics and the real existence of essences.
