Some manga series are pretty simple. You can step away from it for months, finally pick up a volume, and feel like you never left. Vampire Knight is not one of those series. I respect it for being one of the more complex and serious series that I've read.

I spent most of the volume thinking "What? I don't get it." It felt like I was reading an epic tragedy, but unfortunately I couldn't exactly figure out who was doing what or why they were doing it. Part of this was because I haven't read the se

For once, I do have to say:

Thank you Kaname. Your doucheness is actually working out for my devious pairing. Please continue to be absolute ass.

Also, I literally (Yes LITERALLY, ask my bf he was tots there) yelled "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?" while reading this. Kaname, what are you up to? (And more importantly when whenwhenwhen will I find out???)

Also can you please stay like out of the picture for the next like 5 volumes so Yuki and Zero can get some smoochy-smoochy time in? Kthxbye

This series has become so meh to me, and a pain to get through. So glad it almost over.

It seems like everything that made this series so great is gone, other than the lovely artwork. The drama used to be balanced out by a cute touch of humor, but now the only place we find any of that is in the afterwords.

I would actually be okay with a nonstop dark, dramatic storyline IF IT MADE SENSE. But this has become a huge, rambling mess of ridiculousness that Hino's gorgeous art simply cannot save.

The previous volume gave me hope, but this one dropped the ball again. I will probably read

The further I go reading this the more bored I am actually getting with it. I really liked it up to the point where you see Kaname always leaving Yuuki alone while he goes off to do whatever he has set out to do. I know that whatever he is doing is to keep Yuuki safe but having converted her back to being a vampire and pretty much abandoning her (in my small opinion) is worse. YES, I know he has to leave her behind while he is doing what he needs to do and leaves her in the care of those he trus ...more

This story is so confusing. It was interesting in the beginning, but it's getting so melodramatic and convoluted, it's really hard to follow, and I don't find my self caring very much. I wish it would focus more on Zero and his relationship with Yuki, but that's taken a backseat to other things. I hope it gets back to it. On the plus side, I didn't get quite as creepy a vibe from the Yuki/Kaname pairing as I did before, now that they're focusing more on how they're not actually brother and siste ...more

?????? <----This is what was going through my head through most of this volume. I can't even properly review this very well it was so muddled. Good art and loved seeing a few characters but until the end I was often confused. New plot twists happening and without spoilers there is really nothing more I can say.

And just when I think everything's going to be okay, BOOM, plot twist. SIGH. All I want is Kaname and Yuki to be together, but Kaname has changed. Maybe forever? Definitely for the worst. Can't say I like where this is going.

In Vampire Knight, Vol.14, the tales has turned a bit like a soap opera. It is a tale where vampires and humans live in a fragile existence. The vampires are separate but stronger and the humans have a group of vampire hunters who exist to do away with vampires who become threats to themselves or others. The main character is Yuki Cross, a pureblood vampire who resides with her fiancee, Kaname Kuran. Her oldest childhood friend and her foster father are vampire hunters. Her vampire mother died t ...more

Finally, something seems to be happening. Finally, some sort of conflict seems to be coming about. However, I found the bit with Aido at the Hunters' HQ ridiculous; I found it out of character for Cross to behave in such a way. And the ending was a little bit shocking while still leaving me dissatisfied with the pacing of the story.

Also, the "tension" between Yuki and Kaname is no longer tension--it's just stupidity. Yuki finally understands him and makes promises to him and then turns around a

The origins of the Vampire Hunters and legions of obedient ex-human vampires. Fun right? A lot happens in this volume and all of it important to the story. A lot is revealed too and then Hino takes us around a turn into wtf? I knew something would come up but I wasn't expecting that. I now don't know what to think of about Kaname. Yuki is great as always. I love her long hair. Speaking of which the artwork is still superb. I've begun to buy the hard copies of these books. I haven't gotten very f ...more

Rated 3.5 for first few vols and 4-4.5 for the last. Overly serious angst vampire and hunter love triangle, but the plot is fairly well developed and complicated enough to be interesting. But the characters are too otherworldly for the most part with their complicated history due to the setting. The Anime is a good adaption, and i enjoyed it more when i was 13.

I'm mostly finishing this series because I miss how good it used to be when they were all still at school, rather than actually liking it now. I wouldn't even bother if I weren't so attached to the early volumes.

Still interesting to read...

....still very, very confusing to follow. I think the main problem might be how long I take to read theses. But with so many characters and so much happening I’d be lucky to keep it all straight regardless.

This volume was pretty good. Things got more complicated in this one. I felt like a lot of my confusion was clarified in this volume, but I still was confused about a few things.
The characters were pretty great in this and I felt the illustrations were slightly clearer/more organized.

In this volume you learn that Kaname is much more than Yuki's love but something bigger. . Kaname is awesome. The Arthur does a fantastic job of NOT creeping you out with the dark relationships and story lines.

This has become so intense! I love how this series has romance but is mainly about all the schemes and plots the pure bloods do and how vampire society works and their relationship with humans. The anime shouldn't have ended where it did.

I find this series difficult to follow sometimes but I persevere. I need to know how it ends but it's getting harder and harder to stick with it.

Concerned about the hunters attempting to torture Aido. Not cool. Aido is a sweetheart. And phew... Kaname isn't actually her brother.

And then there is is cute page at the end of the book:

At least things are happening... But Kaname is still keeping secrets and did something with no explanation and then disappeared. Ugh

Oh man . . . I can't believe I'm regretting everything I said about Yuki and Kaname being a cute couple. Before, I thought of that, but after the truth about Kaname was revealed, I can't say I still like him. It's chapter 68 and he's still a big liar! If he truly loves Yuki, he'll also think of her opinions (e.g. What will Yuki think if I do this?). But no, he just goes on without a care.

He's also selfish. I still don't know what his real intentions are and why he killed Aidou's father. But he

Volume 14 continues with the dark, moody, and thought provoking overtones of the last volume. Throughout the story we are asked how we see our main cast of characters, especially the evasive and mysterious Kaname. Through Yuki's eyes, Kaname has always been a sympathetic and admirable character. As the higher echelon of pureblood vampires, he is most revered and feared. He has shown Yuki kindness and protection when she was younger while displaying snippets of his vulnerability.

*I gave this series 4 stars and this review will be on every volume, for my own organizational purposes.*
Vampire Knight is a 19 volume, 93 chapter manga series. That's about five or six chapters- titled "nights", if I'm not mistaken, this entire series is consecutive, it's not hopping around from one month to the next- per volume. While it is a lot to read, it's actually a quick one. I didn't realize how little it took me to read all of this until I finished. Generally, I'd say Vampire Knight i
