"Touchingly sincere...Trent and Laura are both rendered as wounded, lovable people, and readers will cheer for each stumbling, shy step toward the couple's reunion. Scott's prose is witty and sharp, and her delightful cast of characters keeps this delectable page-turner vibrant throughout."

5 ‘made me cry, made me sigh, made me believe that with love, anything is possible’ stars!

Back to You is the third book in Jessica Scott’s Coming Home series. It follows the story of Trent and Laura and the slow disintegration of their marriage due to Trent’s love affair with his other wife, the Army. I was dreading this story with as much passion as I was needing it. Dreading it because of the allegations against Trent, and desperately needing it because, deep down, I knew those allegations c

Captain Trent Davila has a beautiful wife, two children, and a thriving career in the military. After he was wounded on a mission and almost died, he lost a piece of himself, thinking he didn’t deserve to live, which makes him feel lost and unable to cope with life. Now he’s back in the U.S. after being fired and court martialed for crimes he didn’t commit. To make matters worse, his wife has filed for divorce. Trent’s constant need to be in command and to make sure his boys are safe is what dro
I've been anxiously awaiting this story since I read the first book in the series. Trent fascinated and frustrated me in the previous books and I wanted to explore the mystery of him.

While this is a romance about a husband and wife falling in love with each other again, it's also a hard-to-put-down look at the troubles our military heroes face when coming home from war. Scott did an excellent job of balancing the romance with the realities. It was hard to read at times, and I straight bawled at

Since the beginning of this series, I've watched the slow disintegration of Trent and Laura's marriage. What's made it even sadder is they're both really good people. He's admired by the troops under his command and she's a vital part of the support infrastructure for the families waiting for their loved ones to return home from deployment.

I couldn't understand why Trent kept volunteering for deployment and distancing himself from his wife and family. This bo

WOW!! Just WOW! What an absolutely perfect Valentine's Day read. I loved everything about this book. Truly, just everything.

This book was a difficult one to read because though what Trent did to his wife Laura and kids makes you want to hate him, yet you cannot because he feels all of that himself and more. A near death experience changed him, pulling him between his family and his men, so rather than dealing with his family he deploys over and over, pulling away from his wife and then his career implodes with accusations of impropriety and wrong-doing. He then decides to win back his family if he cannot salvage his ...more

I'm not sure how to rate this one. It is very well written and the author does a fantastic job showing us what it's like to be in the military and what it's like for the families they leave behind. This was a nicely angsty story with a truly remorseful H. Watching Trent and Laura slowly heal their marriage was so romantic. But I felt like there was too much time spent in the character's heads and they just repeated the same stuff again and again. The pacing s

Back to you was a simply stunning read and clearly showed just how strong love in war can be. The author dug deep into the psyche of both main characters Trent and Laura, showing each one's emotions as they go from being a close and happy couple to just barely dealing with each deployment separation.

I honestly could not get enough of Trent and how is so very lost but still keeps fighting to try and get his life back on track.

I laughed and I cried so many times in this read, it was truly an emoti

Well written but too dramatic for me. I didn’t feel like the characters should have gotten back together
Knowing something was going to be a tough read, but still wanting desperately to read it is how I have felt about this story since I read the first book in the series. 'Because of You' ended with a side story that was just begging to be told and finally we get that story here. So worth it, but no lie, it will twist you up inside before it gets better.

Captain Trent Davila has hit the very lowest his life can go and it is while he is down there looking around him at the shattered pieces of his lif

My Review:
I'm always a bit leery about books like this. I spent twenty years as a military spouse and sometimes these books cut a little too close to home and those feelings and emotions from that time. This one was especially hard-hitting because it's about an established couple on the brink of divorce from the stresses from military life. I definitely had that jittery, slightly sick feeling to my stomach for the first 20% of this book that relates to that issue, but it was such a good book....
My heart raced most of the book.

Trent knows he has made mistakes and it is costing him his family. He almost died while deployed, well technically he did die; and he couldn't cope with life at home so he volunteered to go back to war. Laura loves Trent with all her heart but why would the man she loves volunteer to return to war over and over and leave his family behind? He must not love them anymore, she can't understand but knows she must move forward so she files for divorce.

Trent was a char

We have seen this couple in bits and pieces as their relationship falls apart from the previous books. Now, their marriage has come to its very last string, and we finally get to get their full story.

Trent is a true patriot serving his country and supporting his brother in arms, but that had cost him his relationship with his wife and his family. He has been charged with missing equipment among other things and now awaiting trial. Now he has to face his failing marriage along with getting back
I knew that when I finally got my hands on Trent and Laura's book I would spend the entire time blinking back tears and rubbing my aching heart. I was right. Back To You was extremely emotional and once again Jessica Scott took me on a roller coaster ride of raw emotions and real life. If you've read Scott before, none of this will be at all surprising.

“I'm so sorry I wasn't man enough for you to believe in,” he whispered.

Heart. Broke.

Trent is an amazing hero. He's not perfect, he has problem
Trent & Laura's story!! FINALLY! I can't wait to read this one :o)

Every time…every…damn…time I read a book by Jessica Scott I’m reminded why I love her work so purestdelightawardand why I keep reading despite the book hangover I get and the amount of tears I shed until I’m dehydrated. As much as I’ve loved every book in this series, Back To You is my favorite even though I originally never really cared for the hero in this book. However, this author has a way

From the beginning of this series I have been drawn to Trent and Laura's story and finally we get to find out what happens.

Poor Poor Trent. War has broken him and he so badly wants to be home but he is fighting so many personal demons.

"Yes, it is." His voice was urgent and harsh. "I can't fix what I've done. And I damn sure don't deserve your forgiveness." He lowered his forehead to hers, his palms warm

I have been patiently waiting for Trent and Laura's story since the start of this series and I had my fingers crossed the whole time that the author would be able to pull it off in a satisfying way. Back to You turned out to be an impassioned story of two people that are clearly meant to be, finding their way back to each other through courage and heartache.

Captain Trent Davila has a promising career in the army and a beautiful family waiting for him at home. But it's a career that he

I'm a huge fan of Jessica Scott and was super excited to get an early copy of Back to You for review thanks to the publisher through NetGalley.

I've wanted Trent and Laura's story since I first read Shane and Jen's book. I knew there was more to what was going on with Trent and couldn't wait to find out the truth. I'm going to say up front, you need to have tissues handy while reading this book.

Back to You was a very emotional read for me. I love a book that pulls me in completely, and Trent and

Captain Trent Davila is lost. He has spent 10 years in the military, the last several fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the process he was nearly killed, and his guilt of surviving when some of "his boys" didn't, has torn away at the man he was. The man he is, has volunteered for deployment after deployment, threatened with court martial for crimes he didn't commit, his wife has filed divorce papers, and he doesn't even know his two small children. He's tired of being lost.

Heartbreaking look at a man whose given his life to the Army and ended up not only losing his family but he also lost himself and has no idea how to repair the damage he’s caused and become a normal functioning person away from war.

Trent and Laura’s story started in Because of You. At first glance we thought they had the perfect marriage with two children. But before long everything came unraveled. When that book ended not only had Trent lost good men along with two of his closes friends were w

I knew Back To You was going to be hard to read! The previous books in this series gave us an idea of Laura and Trent's crumbling marriage. While she's at home working and raising two young kids, he kept deploying over and over again, shutting her out more and more each time. It got to the point where Laura reached her breaking point and had to accept she may have lost her husband completely. Then he came home. Trent was being accused of something, so he came to home to deal with that, and durin ...more

A beautiful story! I almost don't know what else to say. I have followed Jessica Scott's career since her first novel. I then read her non fiction books, and am so glad she is still writing fiction. This story felt so real and I know all writers' rely on their life experiences to mold a story, but this had so much heart and heartbreak in it that it felt REAL. We had met Trent and Laura Davila in Jessica's other novels, but this was their story. Trent has been a commander in the army, relieved of ...more

This one has been a long time coming, Trent putting his family last and Laura slowly getting more and more fed up. I kept expecting Trent to realize that his actions are at the heart of what was going on with him and Laura, but it didn't, not for a long time.

I was stunned by how Trent's lawyer thought to fix things for him. I actually liked that Trent told him not only no, but hell no. I hated the lawyer when he went around Trent and asked Laura himself, it was a shitty thing to do and really,

I have been waiting for Trent and Laura's story since I first met them in Because of You. But it was more than worth the wait. Back to You looks at how Trent attempts to transition back home after being gone for four deployments and has no idea how to connect with his wife and kids. He doesn't want to expose his wife to anything that he has dealt with, but by doing that he has shut Laura out and she can no longer bear the pain of Trent walking away. The story of them finding their way back to ea ...more

ARC Copy, I give this 4 1/2 stars. This book is both emotional and sexy. I am happy to have Trent and Laura's story done. It was interesting to see inside what happens during war and the lives that it effects. I find this book more interesting and true for the fact that Jessica did go to war. The story was heartfelt and exactly how the story should have played out. There is some good sex scenes that add to the spice of the book. I also love that Nicole and Jen were in this book.I also like that ...more

Ms Scott does internal dialogue very well. I liked being inside Trent's head, the only way to know him really as he is a very closed man. I also liked that Ms Scott wrote about the internal politicking of the army (like any other organisation really) where life is not all roses.
