Dr. Ed (he's a dentist and teacher) Pinegar was a year ahead of me at Provo (Utah) High School and at BYU.

My wife and I now watch him every Sunday as he serves as Bishop on a half hour "LDS Worship Service" on BYUTV.

He wrote this commentary with Richard J. Allen. He had other
co-authors on the companion volume on the New Testament.

I will try and read this volume again this year (2010) as the Old Testament is the course of study for LDS Sunday School adult classes.

I read ALMOST this whole book and loved what I read. I know how some people feel about commentaries and that they can contain many errors, but most of the quotes and information were from prophets and apostles, and what they say comes before all college professors (yes, even BYU professors), seminary and institute teachers, and everyone else. So I quite enjoyed the depth this book brought my studying!

Jill sent to us when we were on our mission. We read it them and I read it again before each Sunday lesson. It help to understand the lessons that were being presented. What a wonderful readers guide.

This might be a different book, as the one I read was almost 700 pages. But it was writte by these two authors on the Olt Testament.
I wish it had more scripture references when following a story, so I could read it side by side with my Old Testament.
