What a nice surprise this Kindle freebie turned out to be. It was about second chances, coming home, seeing life through someone elses eyes, and realizing that maybe what you left behind wasnt all that bad.

Logan and Megan are looking for different things out of life, but when they are brought together by chance, and she helps him and his sister with the huge challenge of making their father comfortable as hes recovering from a stroke. Logan is in awe of this woman that treats his father with

Cute book about a single dad that has a lot of guilt on his shoulders after leaving his families farm. I might try more in the series one day:))
Blame it on Texas by Tori Scott was a great read, one that I enjoyed immensely. I was subjected to a lot of emotion as I read this novel, one I am finding out that Tori Scott is quite adept at dishing out to her readers. Toe-curling sexiness together with a lot of heartwarming characters with a hint of a secondary romance to follow, Blame it on Texas is a novel I would recommend for fans who love romances that makes you feel like you are part of the journey of the hero and heroines way towards ...more

Oh, well, do I describe this book??? AMAZING! Well that would be one way to put it! Logan is forced to move home and take care of his father with his sister's help. While he is doing this he sublets his apartment to Megan, a woman he has never met, on his sister's recommendation. Unknown to him, his daughter runs away from her mother, only to show up at his apartment wanting her daddy whom she believes doesn't love her anymore. Logan has spent the last couple months missing his ...more

I love this series and Megan I loved her, "Megan hugged her back, then hissed in her ear. "Why didn't you tell me your brother is gorgeous? My clothes are wrinkled, I'm hot and sweaty, and my makeup disappeared around Abilene. I'm so embarrassed." I mean Logan that boy is something handsome, "she was so mesmerized by the image of the broad, tanned chest, lightly dusted with black curly hair, she didn't realize she was staring until a spray of water slapped her in the face." I mean Megan ain't ...more

3.5 Stars. This was a very good story. I had my doubts at first with the heroine being young, which is always a sticking point with me. It didn't help when there were a couple of instances of being in the daughters POV either. But eventually the characters started to grow on me. By the middle of the story, I felt like I was a part of their family and even the community.

That said, I did have issues with the heroine towards the end when she was willing to give up all of her hopes and dreams and go

Oh my goodness! I couldnt put this one down for a second. Scott mixes action and suspense alongside heartache and love to create a wonderfully complex experience for her audience. She captures the essence of a working ranch perfectly and wraps it up in a will-they-wont they tale like youve never seen before. Scotts descriptions are so vivid that she paints the ranch before you, allowing you to walk alongside the characters. Each and every moment is extremely real and poignant.

Delightful romance with enough of an edge to make it memorable. While all is not wine and roses, neither is it whine and rages. It is a well developed story with a definite story line, some real life, and great characters. I was delighted to discover that his book has a sequel although I do not know if it will go any further.

Logan and Carol move home to help out on the family ranch when their father has a stroke. A complication brings Megan, a friend of Carol's to the ranch much to Logan's

I really enjoyed this story and its characters, but maybe not as much as Lone Star Justice, which I read just before it, since I missed the edginess of a murder mystery mixed in with the romance. Logan should have gotten on my nerves, but instead he cracked me up. He was such an anxious little worry-wort--he reminded me of some of the little old lady control freaks in my church. I was hoping the author would write the poor dear a prescription for some ativan. Anyway, I found him more human than ...more

Similar to Kathleen Brooks and the Bluegrass series, this story is light, fun, and an easy read. Unlike Kathleen Brooks, Tori Scott has an editor and it was typo and spelling error free! What a welcome change! I really enjoyed the story and the character struggle, and while some of it was far fetched, easier to believe than the story lines of the Bluegrass series. Less outlandish than the Bluegrass stories can also mean slightly less fun, but I like that I could absolutely relate to this.

Another reviewer wrote that "this is everyday people, in their everyday lives, facing everyday problems" and that is such a great way to put it. It is such a refreshing change to see that all these people aren't rich and successful. They are down-home working class individuals who are as real to you as the people next door, maybe more so. This book had everything you would want in a story. This author is great at that and her books are those that no matter how much you try, you cannot put it ...more

A fun, sweet and endearing read that really gives you the feelings of hometown, true love, family and friendship.

Logan is in the only place he does not want to be. His hometown. Now surrounded by women and his sick father he's even more regretful of his decision to go back there. Even briefly. All he wants to do is get out of there, work, and take care of his daughter. But fate has other plans for him.

Megan wants all that Logan has. The hometown, the familiarity, friends, fresh country air and

I loved this book it was wholesome yet steamy, the characters were engaging and a total page turner straight to the end! I felt emotionally invested in this story from the beginnning and was sent on an emotional roller coaster throughout. This author managed to write about serious life and relationship issues just as seamlessly as a few steamy intimate moments between characters. I have read everything I can get my hands on by this author and have never been disappointed so I would gladly ...more

All said I enjoyed this very much. In the beginning, I had my doubts I would because every time a new course is introduced we're left guessing who they are and what their relationship is. I thought Carol was the love interest for a few pages. and figuring out how old Katie was took a couple chapters.

Quick rundown for others who don't want to be confused:
Logan - hero, Carol - his sister, Megan - Carol's friend, Logan's love interest, Katie - Logan's 12yo daughter, Charlie - Logan & Carol's

Great story with good character and plot development, and it was free on Amazon!
Cover/Title: It was the series name that caught me. I am a fan of hunky cowboys (what girl isn't?)

Characters: Logan is stubborn to say the least. However, his ex-wife made me want to reach thru the book and slap her. LOL. Megan was too sweet. I loved the townspeople of Morris Springs, though. That is the way a town should be.

Plot: Typical romance. Two stubborn people too busy stumbling over themselves, other people and their problems to admit how they feel about each other.

Overall: If you are

This book just didn't work for me. I like an Alpha, protective hero but the hero in this book was just a jerk. His views on females was ridiculous and I have no idea what the heroine really saw in him. His guilt got old after awhile and when he went back home and right back to his old ways without regard to his sister and daughter I lost all respect for him. I also hated that the heroine was willing to give up all her hopes and dreams and everything she had worked for to accept the hero in ...more
I wanted a frothy contemporary romance. I didnt want to read about a man who has suffered a massive stroke and has to have his food blended for him and be spoon fed. Neither did I want to read about a woman who is so perfect she can do anything at all - Mary Sue anyone? But that paled into insignificance compared to the ghastly and frankly humiliating way everyone treated the disabled man. It was just too much for me.

Dnf. Too many triggers.

Sassy Fun Read!

Loved it all - cover to cover. Couldn't out it down. Laughed and cried, screamed at the characters ( yes, I know, they don't listen)! Laughter through tears, community of unity, learning that what you thought happened when you were young might not have been like you thought!
