This was a sweet and touching romance that touched the heart with the reality and sorrow buried deep in the book.

Charlotte Morgan grieves her sister's death so much. If cocky Conrad Deaton knew anything about grief perhaps he wouldn't be so harsh on her or her brother-in-law/Conrad's brother. But no he must seek to take charge of a situation. And Charlotte made a promise to her dying sister to care for the two wee ones she left behind. And just because Conrad thinks he must drag them aboard a ship to be raised by their father doesn't mean Charlotte is going to sit back and twiddle her thumbs and watch it h ...more

Grieving the loss of her twin sister and the loss of her only true love Charlotte must choose the path her life will take. She determines to honor her final promise to her twin sister Emma to watch over Emma's two children as well as support her husband David. That means that Charlotte must also put up with David's brother Conrad who broke her heart six years earlier when he choose a life in the Navy instead of marrying her.

The war is raging between the Colonies and England. Conrad and David hav

The third and final book in this trilogy. I was not disappointed. Can be read as a stand alone, although, I would recommend reading the others in this amazing series. I have been intrigued from the start by this amazing trilogy of this Scottish clan. Filled with intrigue, passion and the power of love. Fast paced with
grief, approaching war, the American Civil war, second chances, faith, healing and the power of love. Once again Ms. Taylor has written a unique, inspiring tale that will grip the

I received this book from the goodreads-first-reads giveaway. I loved Jennifer Hudson Taylor's "For Love or Loyalty" and looked forward to reading this last book in The MacGregor Legacy Trilogy.
I enjoyed the story line greatly and loved that the main characters in her previous book was mentioned in this one.
Charlotte Morgan is grieving her twin sister's Emma's death. She made a promise to her sister to look after her children and her husband, David. David has a brother named Conrad who has also

I was very disappointed with the book. I enjoyed the first two in the series but this one can't stand up to them, as I found the writing and the characters both to be difficult. The writing is choppy and the sentences are at times awkwardly written. It doesn't flow nicely at all which is very distracting.

The characters are as a whole an unlikeable lot, especially the main two or three and I found that became the case even more so as I read the book as opposed to connecting with them as I had hop
I received this book from the goodreads-first-reads free giveaway. This is the love story of Charlotte and Conrad who attempt to sort their feelings for each other amongst tragedy and challenges. Overall the storyline was good but the last couple of chapters seemed to lack an appropriate evolution and seemed to have been added to just end the story. It felt like there were too many loose ends and without revealing the ending, it left me wondering more about the other characters and if this was t ...more

This was an intriguing read. I have not read many historical fiction novels in the past, but this one truly held my interest. The characters and settings were true-to-life and the history presented was very accurate. It was a hard book to put down and I truly enjoyed reading it!

I was presented this book by the author as part of a GoodReads contest, but the opinions expressed in this review reflect what I really thought of this book.

This was a wonderful historical romance in the time period where we were fighting England for our freedom here in America. This is a first for me in this time period. It was rich in information about how life was at that time period and how they traveled. The colorful characters added a lot to the situations also. Enjoyed this work involving our history a lot.
