I met Mr. Montgomery at a book signing, and picked up a copy of The Fall of Daoradh. I wasn't disappointed with it. I quite enjoyed it, in fact. I detected some Tolkien influence in this epic, though it possesses its own flavor; sort of a classic fantasy setting with more of a modern-day feel. The ending was especially satisfying, and well worth the read. This is supposed to be the first in a trilogy, so I'll be looking forward to the next volume.
