I love using scrapbook books as a way to gain inspiration and see what others do with this wonderful art form. Plus, many are just fun to look through as there are pages and pages of beautiful and creative pieces of life and memories. This particular book is presented in themed sections and within each section different questions are presented and then solutions are presented. Examples of questions are: How do I take more dynamic photos? How do I incorporate handwriting into my layouts? How can I use punches in a more creative way? and on and on.

This book is about fourteen years old, but much of the information is still relevant. I enjoyed reading through the book, but there is something I immediately noticed about this book and which has been an on-going issue when it comes to scrapbooking. This book is directed at mostly white heterosexual women who are Christian. There is little to no diversity presented in these pages which is a shame. When this happens, it says the stories and lives of people of color, men, LGBTQ people, and members of other faiths have less importance and aren't worthy enough to be documented. Of the women shown in the beginning of the book only one is a women of color. This is a problem that in 2019 still hasn't been entirely rectified. It's certainly gotten better, but it's still a pretty limited world. And when it's brought up, many getting offended.

Scrapbooking needs to evolve and the stories of a wide variety of people need to be told and memorialized in this art form. I'm doing my part to bring a little diversity to this world.
