obviously i love all of Margaret Chatwin's books. Mike and Karen just grab you from the beginning, youre interested from page one, and its full of action and twists to keep you interested until the very end. You find yourself caring for the characters, laughing with them, worrying for them, and at times you just cant read fast enough! Awesome story, you wont want to put it down!

If you haven't read one of Chatwin's books yet I suggest going to her page, reading the descriptions, finding the one you think you'll like best and ordering it. Chances are you'll be ordering the rest shortly after.
I've read all three of Chatwin's books, two were 5 stars for me and one was 4 stars. I read Sweet So Fragile first (that's my 4 star), 101 second (5 star) and Taking the Fall last. In case anyone looks close enough to notice my lists and sees that I have signed copies I want to make

This book is one of my favorites. (And not just because I wrote it.) I love the chemistry between the characters! I like the way Karen’s fierce independence clashes with Mike’s long-suffering type personality. It not only turns them both into something different by the end of the story, but it creates a few laughs along the way.
I like the morals of the story: patience, perseverance, forgiveness, understanding, kindness, following one’s dreams, selflessness, and the positive up built of others.

Taking the Fall is fast paced and full of adventure. It had awesome character development-- they felt so real and stayed with me long after finishing the book.

I have never written a review before and don't claim to be very good with words, but I will give my honest opinion of this book. I thought it was a very good story and kept me interested right from the beginning. I loved Mike's character and could see why Karen fell for him, but I have to admit that Karen really bugged me in the beginning. Her character did get better, but I don't believe anybody could be as stupid and mean as Karen was portrayed in the beginning?! Like I said she did grow on me ...more

Mike and Karen were thrown together because of a dangerous situation and it was as if they were meant to be together from the very start. They were perfect for each other and they both knew it from the very beginning, but Karen being the independent person that she is had a hard time letting herself put down the walls she built up around her Heart to let Mike in. I think we can all relate in some way with Karen we want the world to see us as strong and independent but desperately long to have so ...more

I am sorely tempted to give a recap of the storyline but will do you the favor of not repeating the blurb in my own words. :)

Mike is a very sexy character. I'll be honest and say that I found him physically attractive although I have no clue what so ever what his facial features are. I'm not sure if Chatwin simply didn't put enough of an emphasis on it or if I was simply an unobservant reader. (I believe

I downloaded the Nook version of Taking the Fall. I think I actually paid for it back in 2012, but it didn't make it to my Nook before the computer crashed on me! However recently I got my hands on a free version and made the immediate nook transfer this time! This book has shown me that Margaret is very versatile in writing character personalities. I won't lie Karen was a hard character to like. I feel she was written that way on purpose though. If she wasn't lashing out at others she was sever ...more

I love it. An employee that does their job too well. So well, in fact, that it places her life in danger. Enter a man who will betray her. A cabin in the woods. I knew what would happen, but this is a great story about life and the ability to pick yourself up after you have been knocked down. The tension Margaret Chatwin created by very successfully twisting and drawing out the conclusion made me read this cover to cover, unable to stop.

I read this book in a few hours because the story is interesting and easy to read. Margaret does a great job setting up the tension and throws us into a tense manhunt. I enjoyed much of the story and hesitated to leave a review because I think this book deserves a higher rating than I'm giving it. Margaret is a very good writer. I would have rated this book 5 stars, but I prefer the main characters to not sleep around. Although Margaret didn't dwell on the other relationships, they bothered me e ...more

I couldn’t get more than 30 percent through. I hated the main female character so much I couldn’t finish.

Taking the Fall

We read this book for my at home book club. It was just ok for me. I hated the leading lady (which may have been what the author wanted). I felt like the story climaxed at the middle and the rest of it just drug on. However, there were some exciting and well written parts.
This book was pretty good. I thought once they got off the mountain, it dragged some, and then it ended so abruptly. Also, I'm not sure why it was, the digital copy on my Nook was really wierd, some of the pages only had writing on half of the page, which isn't a big deal, it just bugged me a little.

Book Excerpts : Excerpt from my novel Taking the Fall 1 4 Dec 21, 2011 02:37PM
I think I was a writer before I could even write. I can remember lying awake in my bed as a small child dreaming up characters and adventures for them to take. When I reached the age of thirteen, (which was a million years ago) my imagination could no loner be kept within the confines of my own head and I began to write them down. Many a summer I laid out in the back yard on the lawn chair with a ...more
